  • Publication number: 20080080350
Abstract: An optical disc includes tracking polarity information. The optical disc includes a clamping area, a lead-in area, a data area, and a burst cutting area (BCA). The BCA is present between the clamping area and the lead-in area and in which information regarding the optical disc is recorded, and the information is read before performing tracking in the data area. Accordingly, it is possible to obtain the tracking polarity information and/or reflectivity information without trial and error and directly record or reproduce user data in a data area of the optical disc.

  • Publication number: 20070182485
Abstract: A predistorter for the linearization of a power amplifier is provided. The predistorter can incorporate a field effect transistor (FET), which permits a design having low power consumption and broad band characteristics. The predistorter can be appropriate for integration with the power amplifier, unlike the conventional predistorters, because the subject predistorter does not significantly increase the size and complexity of the wireless system. In an embodiment, the subject predistorter can be coupled with a gate bias circuit of a power amplifier. When the predistorter is coupled with the gate bias of a power amplifier, the predistorter can function as linearizer as well as an adaptive gate bias circuit.

  • Publication number: 20060063482
Abstract: An apparatus and method for receiving a broadcasting service in a digital multimedia broadcasting (DMB) system. In a method for changing a broadcasting service in a terminal for receiving DMB services, it is determined if a reserved decoding resource element is present while data of a first broadcasting service is decoded and output. If the reserved decoding resource element is present, it is determined if an operation for decoding a pilot channel will be stopped. If the operation for decoding the pilot channel is stopped, data of a second broadcasting service is received and decoded using the reserved decoding resource element and a decoding resource element for decoding the pilot channel. When a user makes a change to the second broadcasting service, the data of the first and second broadcasting services is simultaneously output.

Abstract: An apparatus and method are provided for receiving a broadcasting service in a digital multimedia broadcasting (DMB) system based on code division multiplexing (CDM). The broadcasting service reception apparatus and method can minimize inconvenience for a user when a receiver changes a broadcasting service. The receiver maintains existing broadcasting data stored in a buffer while changing the broadcasting service. After the data of a new broadcasting service requested by the receiver is deinterleaved while the existing broadcasting data is maintained, the deinterleaved broadcasting data is output to a screen and another output device. A reserved channel is set such that data of the requested broadcasting service can be deinterleaved.

  • Patent number: 6222903
Abstract: A laminography system includes a table, an X-ray source, an image intensifier, a view selector and a camera. The view selector has a prism for refracting a ray of light, and an adjusting part for adjusting the prism to a position in which images at a certain area of an image projecting plane of the image intensifier are received into the camera. The adjusting part has a first motor for rotating the prism along the circumferential direction of the image intensifier, and a second motor for rotating the prism in a direction perpendicular with respect to a radial direction of the image intensifier. Accordingly, the images at any areas of the image projecting plane of the image intensifier can be obtained. In addition, since an optical axis of the image passing through the prism and then received into the camera is in perpendicular relation with the camera, no image distortions occur.
