Patent number: 8115681Abstract: The present invention discloses an antenna for ultra-wideband (UWB) communication having a band-stop characteristic. According to an embodiment of the present invention, the UWB antenna is a patch antenna employing microstrip feeding. In order to expand a bandwidth at a low frequency band, a stub is formed in a radiating element. Furthermore, since steps are formed in a ground plane, an antenna characteristic at an intermediate frequency band can be improved and a UWB characteristic can be obtained. According to another embodiment of the present invention, the UWB antenna is a patch antenna employing microstrip feeding and has a recess formed in the ground plane, thereby implementing the UWB characteristic. The antenna of the present invention has an inverse U-shaped slot formed in the radiating element, thus implementing the band-stop characteristic at the UNII band.Type: GrantFiled: April 25, 2006Date of Patent: February 14, 2012Assignee: EMW Co., Ltd.Inventors: Byung-Hoon Ryou, Won-Mo Sung, Jae-Hoon Choi, Woo-Young Choi, Yang-Woon Roh

Patent number: 8106830Abstract: Disclosed is an antenna having an antenna radiator formed by printing electrically conductive ink on a substrate. An antenna radiator according to an embodiment of the present invention is formed to the same thickness as a skin depth with respect to an operation frequency of the antenna. Therefore, an antenna can be fabricated using a small amount of electrically conductive ink while not reducing the gain of the antenna. Further, an antenna radiator according to another embodiment of the present invention is formed to the same thickness as a skin depth with respect to a predetermined frequency at a corresponding hot spot with respect to the frequency. Accordingly, an amount of electrically conductive ink used can be further reduced while maintaining the gain of the antenna.Type: GrantFiled: June 20, 2006Date of Patent: January 31, 2012Assignee: EMW Co., Ltd.Inventors: Byung-Hoon Ryou, Won-Mo Sung, Sang-Hoon Park

Patent number: 8059061Abstract: Disclosed herein is a subminiature internal antenna, which exhibits a multi-band characteristic. The internal antenna includes a radiator electrically coupled at one end thereof to a feed element of a communication device and formed in a spiral shape as a whole. The radiator is disposed in such a manner as to extend at the other end thereof outwardly from the spiral shape. According to the present invention, the electromagnetic coupling is achieved in the radiator of the internal antenna and the other end of the radiator is disposed outwardly from the spiral shape so that the radiation interference is reduced to thereby obtain the multi-band characteristic.Type: GrantFiled: October 2, 2006Date of Patent: November 15, 2011Assignee: EMW Co., Ltd.Inventors: Byung-Hoon Ryou, Won-Mo Sung, Jee-Hun Seo

Publication number: 20090169792Abstract: Disclosed are a display window in which a recess having a smooth surface is formed and method of producing the same. A recess having a smooth surface, which may look visually convex, is formed in the window of the present invention. Therefore, an external appearance of the window is beautiful. Furthermore, the recess and the through-hole are formed at a location in which the speaker is installed. Accordingly, a mobile phone assembly process can be simplified and become efficient. Meanwhile, in the method of producing the window according to the present invention, the recess is formed to have a circular bite. It is therefore possible to obtain a recess having a smooth surface. Furthermore, since the recess is processed during the plate process, a window having a high hardness, a good transparency, and a variety of shapes can be fabricated.Type: ApplicationFiled: May 2, 2006Publication date: July 2, 2009Applicant: E.M. Publication number: 20090153404Abstract: A single-layer dual-band antenna with circular polarization is disclosed. The antenna includes a first radiator formed on the top surface of a substrate and electrically coupled to a feeding element, and a second radiator formed on the top surface of the substrate, spaced apart from the first radiator by a predetermined distance and electromagnetically coupled with the first radiator. The antenna is thin because it has a single-layer structure. Furthermore, there is no deterioration in the radiation characteristic due to interference between the radiators. Moreover, impedances of the radiators can be independently matched at their frequency bands by adjusting the position of a feed point and the relative position of the radiators.Type: ApplicationFiled: May 4, 2006Publication date: June 18, 2009Applicant: E.M.W.
