    Abstract: There are provided an apparatus and a method for estimating edge areas of pixels in a digital image to thereby prevent an edge sharpening algorithm from being applied to non-edge area of the digital image. Therefore, the apparatus can accurately determine whether each pixel is in an edge area or in a non-edge area, by generating a binary mask obtained by using a luminance difference average between each pixel and each of neighboring pixels in the digital image. Moreover, the determination of an edge-area or a non-edge area may be applied to various digital images, by adjusting a level of edge-area determination.

    Abstract: There are disclosed a DC-DC converter and an organic light emitting display including the same. The DC-DC converter includes a first voltage generator that has an inductor and a plurality of transistors, and converts an input voltage into a first voltage and outputs the first voltage to a first output terminal. The DC-DC converter also includes a controller that controls driving of the first voltage generator by supplying a first driving pulse to each transistor of the first voltage generator. In the DC-DC converter, the amplitude of the first driving pulse is adjustable. Accordingly, it is possible to provide a DC-DC converter and an organic light emitting display including the same, which can achieve high power conversion efficiency by change a driving pulse used in a DC-DC converter.

The histogram stretching apparatus can improve stretching effects by removing the saturated portion of the input image, and can prevent image distortion even for a monochromatic image. The histogram apparatus can improve histogram stretching effects by adjusting entire image levels of an image having a histogram frequency distribution skewed to a dark or bright side before a stretching operation.
