Abstract: The present disclosure generally pertains to dual-polarized magnetic antennas that may be used in various applications and are particularly suited for use in mobile devices and systems. In one exemplary embodiment, a dual-polarized antenna has a ferrite substrate that provides for the use of small antenna elements and also provides broad bandwidth and good impedance matching and isolation making the antenna attractive for use in mobile applications. Such antenna also has nearly omnidirectional radiation patterns and orthogonal polarizations. Further, the radiator type may be selected depending on the desired effective permeability in order to control return loss, isolation, and fractional bandwidth (FBW).
