Abstract: The present invention relates to a location-based service method and system using location data included in image data, particularly to a method and a system of providing the location-based service with photos taken by a camera phone, using location information at the shooting time. The location-based service method according to the present invention, using the image data provided using a terminal equipped with a camera and the location data including the location information of the terminal, comprises the steps of shooting a target image with the terminal at a predetermined location and generating first image data; receiving the location data; including the received location data in the first image data and generating second image data; and displaying an image corresponding to the first image data and providing a service using the location data, if the second image data are selected.

Abstract: In a wireless data communication network, a mobile terminal is reconnected to a contents provider, when a connection established between the mobile terminal and the contents provider is interrupted or after a completion of the downloading of contents, by using return address information and contents address information including addresses of the contents provider and a web page including information relating to the downloaded contents, respectively. A WML (wireless markup language) script including the contents address information and the return address information is provided to the mobile terminal before initiating the downloading of the contents. In this way, the mobile terminal can easily be reconnected to the contents provider when the connection established between the mobile terminal and the contents provider is interrupted due to network congestion or the mobile terminal leaving the service coverage area.

Abstract: Disclosed herein are systems and methods for evaluating video quality. The systems include a video transmitter and a video receiver. The transmitter generates feature parameters from a reference video to be transmitted and transmits the generated feature parameters along with compressed video data via a network. The video receiver receives the feature parameters and the compressed video data via the network, evaluates the video quality of the received video using the feature parameters and transmits video quality evaluation results to the video transmitter via the network.

Abstract: Methods and apparatuses for measuring transmission quality of multimedia data are provided. The method comprises the steps of a transmitter transmitting multimedia data through a channel, a receiver, having received the multimedia data from the transmitter, transmitting information on transmission error of the multimedia data to the transmitter through a return channel, the transmitter estimating the received data at the receiver using the error information returned to the transmitter, and the transmitter evaluating the transmission quality of the received data by comparing the estimated received data with reference data.

Abstract: In a method for setting up theme pictures and bells of a mobile telecommunication terminal, contents data stored in a storage unit of the mobile telecommunication terminal are retrieved based on a user's setting of a theme picture and a bell. A selection window is provided to the user to select the retrieved contents data. It is to determine whether the contents data selected in the selection window are VOD contents. If the contents data are the VOD contents data, at least one among video and audio data including the VOD contents data is decoded. A setup window is provided to determine whether the theme pictures include the decoded audio data. A speaker of the mobile telecommunication terminal is controlled on or off based on a user's setting of the setup window when the theme pictures are set up.

Abstract: In a method for providing a video data streaming service, a server determines whether an occupancy is below a first threshold or is equal to or greater than a second threshold, the occupancy representing the amount of data occupying a queuing buffer of a terminal and the first threshold being less than the second threshold. If the occupancy is not below the first threshold, the server provides the data streaming service at a predetermined service bit rate which is less than the current service bit rate. If the occupancy is equal to or greater than a second threshold, the server provides the data streaming service at a predetermined service bit rate which is greater than the current service bit rate.

Abstract: A method for controlling multimedia based on RTSP is disclosed. The method comprises the steps of: a) confirming a state of a multimedia terminal when a user of the multimedia terminal selects a multimedia play; b) generating a PLAY message of requesting selected media data based on the result of step a) and transmitting the PLAY message to a media server through a wireless data communication network; c) determining whether the state of the multimedia terminal is varied after step b); and generating a control message corresponding to the varied state when the state of the multimedia terminal is varied and transmitting the control message to the server.

Abstract: Disclosed herein are systems and methods for evaluating video quality. The systems include a video transmitter and a video receiver. The tranmitter generates feature parameters from a reference video to be transmitted and transmits the generated feature parameters along with compressed video data via a network. The video receiver receives the feature parameters and the compressed video data via the network, evaluates the video quality of the received video using the feature parameters and transmits video quality evaluation results to the video transmitter via the network.
