  • Patent number: 7969927
Abstract: An apparatus and a method for efficient resource allocation using a cognitive radio communication in Orthogonal Frequency Division Multiple Access (OFDMA)-based moving networks are provided. The method includes determining a minimum transmit power value of the MRS, which enables the internal terminal to have a receive Signal to Interference and Noise Ratio (SINR) greater than a first threshold; determining a transmit power value of the MRS by taking into account the determined minimum transmit power value; determining a transmit power value of the MRS per cellular terminal, which is transmittable at maximum while exerting interference less than a second threshold on a corresponding cellular terminal; searching one or more cellular terminals having the maximum transmittable transmit power value determined per cellular terminal greater than the determined transmit power value; and borrowing and allocating a resource allocated to the searched cellular terminal to the internal terminal.

  • Patent number: 7508891
Abstract: In a method for feeding back combination information of transmitted signals in a multiple-input multiple-output (MIMO) system using a multiple space-time block coding technique, mean square error values are computed in relation to the combination information pieces of the transmitted signals. An index of a combination having a minimum mean square error value from among the mean square error values is fed back.

  • Publication number: 20060140217
Abstract: Disclosed is a method for adaptively allocating frequency resources in a communication system using an orthogonal frequency division multiple access scheme. The method for allocating frequency resources in the communication system that includes a plurality of cells using an identical frequency band includes the steps of dividing a frequency band used in the communication system into sub-frequency bands corresponding to a number of cells, and allocating one of the sub-frequency bands to each of mobile subscriber stations exiting in the cells according to positions of the mobile subscriber stations, thereby increasing the degree of the freedom for frequency resource allocation and minimizing ICI.

  • Publication number: 20060018365
Abstract: A method of transmitting a signal by using an Adaptive Modulation and Coding scheme in a Frequency Hopping-Orthogonal Frequency Division Multiplexing Access communication system capable of dividing total frequency bands into a plurality of sub-carrier bands and including a plurality of sub-channels, which are sets of predetermined sub-carrier bands, and a plurality of cells. The method includes the steps of allocating a predetermined number of sub-channels as AMC sub-channels per each cell matching with predetermined conditions in order to apply the AMC scheme to the AMC sub-channels, and allocating remaining sub-channels except for the AMC sub-channels as FH-OFDMA sub-channels in order to apply an FH-OFDMA scheme to the FH-OFDMA sub-channels.
