    Abstract: Described is a cylindrical secondary battery in which an inner surface of a can is coated to insulate an electrode assembly and a can from each other and to improve heat resistance of the can. The cylindrical secondary battery may include an electrode assembly, a can in which the electrode assembly is accommodated and of which one end is opened so as to be electrically connected to the electrode assembly, a cap plate electrically connected to the electrode assembly, and a rivet terminal insulated from the can and the cap plate, which may be configured to seal one end of the can and which may be insulated from the can. A first coating layer may be provided on at least a portion of an inner surface of the can.

    Abstract: A cylindrical secondary battery includes an electrode assembly; a cylindrical can accommodating the electrode assembly; and a terminal portion including a rivet terminal coupled to one side in the longitudinal direction of the can and electrically connected to the electrode assembly and at least one insulator between the can and the rivet terminal to insulate the can and the rivet terminal from each other. The battery also includes a rotation preventing portion on the can and/or the terminal portion. Since a structure for preventing rotation of the rivet terminal is provided on the upper surface of the can or the rivet head or the main body to which the rivet terminal is fastened, the rivet terminal may not rotate due to an external force or vibration. Therefore, the stability and reliability of the secondary battery can be improved.

By reducing or minimizing a height difference between the positive electrode terminal and the insulator, shape deformation of the electrode assembly can be reduced or prevented during the manufacturing process. By reducing the thickness and weight of the insulator, the size of the electrode assembly can be increased, and the capacity of the secondary battery can be increased.

    Abstract: A cylindrical secondary battery includes a can and a terminal part including: a first terminal outside of the can; and a second terminal coupled to a terminal hole of the can, arranged inside and outside of the can, and riveted to the first terminal from an outside of the can. According to embodiments of the present disclosure, plastic deformation of a rivet terminal occurs outside of a can, and there is no limitation on the shape of the rivet terminal inside the can. In addition, the rivet terminal may be processed regardless of a size or height of the can, and there is no interference with the can, and a processing time may be reduced.
