  • Publication number: 20070209600
Abstract: An animal water bowl assembly is maintained clean by allowing a bowl to dry out after a use period, before refilling. Uses include: birdbath and pet and farm animal watering. Two bowls can be coordinated so that one is in use with water while one is drying out. A two-faced assembly with oppositely facing bowls can automatically coordinate the steps for the two bowls. The process of filling a bowl, allowing it to be used, emptying it, filling another, allowing it to be used while the first dries out, can be automated with an actuator and a controller. An animal water bowl assembly has at least two bowls, with means for coordinating the filling and use and drying steps. As an example, a two faced bowl is rotatable around an axis. An electronic controller opens a valve to provide power to a hydraulic actuator, which flips the two faced bowl to empty the first and present the second for filling. Filling with water occurs automatically, also using water from the hydraulic source.

  • Patent number: 5178350
Abstract: A mounting frame facilitates the installation of ganged electrical devices into a single switchbox. The frame is a rectangular plate with a rectangular opening and provides a rigid support for the devices. Support is needed when the wall on which the devices are to be mounted is not planar or when the switchbox is not properly mounted into the wall. The frame can also include markings that help to align the devices to permit a multigang faceplate to snap onto the devices. An alignment frame provides markings to help align the devices, without also providing a rigid support.

  • Patent number: 5017837
Abstract: An indicator lamp indicates the status of an electrically-powered load control system by providing dim light when the load power is off and a brighter light when the load power is on. In another embodiment, the lamp not only provides two levels of light to indicate whether or not power is on, but also provides a repetitive flash when power to the system is being controlled by remote control. The indicator lamp can also indicate a break in the load circuit. Depending on the embodiment, the break can cause the lamp to be either off or flashing, regardless of the position of the load power switch. Alternatively, a break in the load circuit can cause the lamp to provide substantially no light if the load power switch is in the "off" position, with full light in the "on" position.

  • Patent number: 4947054
Abstract: A system for controlling power to an electrical load includes a linear slide dimmer and a switch, whose pushbutton actuator moves up and down with the dimmer slider. When the pushbutton is depressed, to actuate the switch, it rides in and out in the slider. The slider only moves up and down. In one embodiment, a light is visible through the pushbutton in a darkened environment. In another embodiment, a wallbox-mountable switch assembly includes a pushbutton-actuated, alternate-action mechanical power switch whose pushbutton, when depressed, moves within a bezel that is attached to the switch support.

  • Patent number: 4783581
Abstract: An air gap switch assembly with a status indicator that prominently indicates when the switch is in the OFF position and disappears from view when the switch is in the ON position. The status indicator is located on the control lever for the switch, which is formed of a clear material and is difficult to see. The control lever is moveable relative to the housing of the assembly so that when the control lever is in the ON position, the portion of the lever on which the status indicator is located is hidden from view by the housing of the assembly. When the control lever is moved to the OFF position, the portion of the lever on which the status indicator is located is exposed, thereby providing an indication that the switch is in the OFF position. The switch is formed of two contacts which are biased together in electrical contact by an elongated flat metal strip. The control lever is coupled to a cam.
