  • Patent number: 6202870
Abstract: A bottle cap is provided that allows for venting of gases generated in a bottle. A single or multiple ridges are formed on the inner surface of the cap top such that the ridges sit on the bottle mouth rim when the cap is threaded onto the bottle. A single or multiple slots may be formed across each of the ridges. Alternatively, a single or multiple grooves may be formed on the inner surface of the cap top. The ridge(s) or groove(s) may also be formed on a disc fitted over the inner surface of the cap top. When the cap is threaded on to the bottle, gases generated in the bottle can escape through the slot(s) formed across the ridge(s) or through the groove(s) formed on the inner surface of the cap top. A liner having an opening formed through its thickness may be placed in the cap. The liner opening allows the passage of gases from the bottle to the slot(s) or groove(s) formed on the cap top or disc.

  • Patent number: 6189489
Abstract: A self attaching, rugged animal feeding bowl for use in cages, kennels, compounds, and/or animal transportation containers. The bowl is constructed of a rigid hard surfaced polymer. The material used is molded with a heavy wall thickness which greatly reduces the possibility that an animal will be able to penetrate the surface with teeth, claws, bills or beaks thus reducing the risk of destruction of the bowl and harm to the animal. The bowl has an attachment apparatus including a slot for receiving a wire of an animal enclosure. The attachment member includes a male/female coupling which sandwiches the wires of the enclosure between the male/female members when the coupling is engaged. Ribs including a center rib support and reinforce the attachment apparatus as it is secured to the bowl. The attachment apparatus may be formed in two sections that interlockingly engage each other. A guard may be incorporated for preventing the spillover of food from the enclosure to the surrounding area.

The material used is molded with a heavy wall thickness which greatly reduces the possibility that an animal will be able to penetrate the surface with teeth, claws, bills or beaks thus reducing the risk of destruction of the bowl and harm to the animal. The bowl has an attachment apparatus either integrally molded with or secured to the bowl sidewall. The attachment apparatus includes one or more slots for receiving wires of an animal enclosure. The attachment member includes a male/female coupling which sandwiches the wires of the enclosure between the male/female members when the coupling is engaged. Ribs including a center rib support and reinforce the attachment apparatus as it is secured to the bowl.

  • Patent number: 4117632
Abstract: A watering device for growing plants. A container which may be a flower pot filled with soil or the like which has an aperture in the bottom. A second container for water is provided below the first container. A rigid probe having a central bore is provided that can be inserted through the aperture in the bottom of the first container or pot and extended up into the earth in the container. A wick has a part immersed in the water and a part extending up through the bore in the probe and is then wrapped around the probe and fastened. The probe is axially slotted to allow moisture to be drawn up through the wick and to transfer to the convolutions of the wrapped wick and for dissemination into the soil in the container.
