  • Patent number: 7602865
Abstract: A system and method is disclosed for enhancing a reception rate for a mobile communication system. A system is provided comprising a demodulator for separating a received signal into an I signal and a Q signal, an amplifier for amplifying the I signal and Q signal from the demodulator, and an offset adjusting unit. The offset adjusting unit is provided for amplifying an amplified I signal and an amplified Q signal, comparing a difference signal determined between the amplified I signal and the amplified Q signal with a target value, and outputting an amplification control signal associated with the difference signal and an amplification offset value.

  • Patent number: 7508784
Abstract: A system and method improves performance of a GSM TDMA-based terminal by canceling TDMA noise. When a time burst is generated on a battery power line, a check is performed to determine whether a current time slot is an idle slot, and if the current time slot is an idle slot a noise level is applied to generate an offset voltage. An overall battery voltage drop is reduced based on the applied noise level. Supply noise to the idle slot may be performed by applying an arbitrary channel when an idle slot corresponds to a baseband frequency. Alternatively, a transceiver may generate thermal noise in an idle slot state and a corresponding noise level may then be supplied to the power amplifier.

  • Publication number: 20060055249
Abstract: A power switching device in a mobile communication terminal includes a voltage regulator configured to generate a first voltage to be used as an input to a power amplifier module, a battery configured to output a second voltage to be used as the input to the power amplifier module, and a load switch configured to switch from using the first voltage to using the second voltage as an input to the power amplifier module based on an output power level of a transmit signal of the terminal.

  • Publication number: 20040208149
Abstract: A method for applying a power signal of a mobile station in a mobile communication system comprises starting a transmission or a reception by a mobile station, resetting a frame counter to an initial value, increasing the frame counter value, and controlling a power signal for each block inside the mobile station whenever the frame counter value is changed. The mobile communication system maybe a GSM using a TDMA method or a GPRS based system. The turn on time for each block inside the mobile station used is considered to set delay time, and a power ON signal is applied in advance of powering on an antenna switch in accordance with the delay time. As a result, mobile station operation may be adjusted to comply with a standard, stable operation of the mobile station can be assessed and, consumption power of a battery may be reduced, thus lengthening the battery use time.
