The electronic device includes a communicator; a memory configured to store one or more instructions; and a processor configured to execute the one or more instructions stored in the memory to: control the communicator to transmit, to an audio output device via one-way communication, connection information which is used for connection of two-way communication between the electronic device and the audio output device; control the communicator to receive, from the audio output device via the two-way communication, authentication information which is determined based on the connection information; control the communicator to transmit or receive a control signal to or from the audio output device, via the two-way communication, according to an authentication of the audio output device based on the received authentication information; and control the communicator to transmit an audio signal to the audio output device, via the one-way communication.
