  • Patent number: 6776151
Abstract: A kitchen oven has an infrared gas broiler with a venturi tube assembly extending forwardly from a back wall of the oven for supplying fuel gas and drawing ambient air for combustion through a venturi tube opening at the oven back wall. Ducting is mounted on the oven back wall and extends over the venturi tube opening. A fan is mounted on the oven in communication with the ducting for supplying a positive air flow through the ducting to said venturi tube opening.

  • Patent number: 6104005
Abstract: An electric heating element for the bottom of a cooking oven. The heating element has a unique shape or pattern in plan view that includes two narrow loops or arms extending toward the rear corners of the oven and two wider loops or arms extending toward the front corners of the oven with the narrow loops joined to the wider loops by concave side portions and the two wider loops joined in the front by a concave portion. The extremities of the four loops are closely spaced from the rear wall and two walls of the oven. This shape and size creates more uniform heating throughout the oven cavity than conventional heating elements of different shapes or patterns.

  • Patent number: 6098613
Abstract: A venting system for a gas oven of a cooking range that also has a cooktop portion. The venting system includes a flat duct above the oven on each side that communicates with an elongated opening in the top of the oven on that side and the duct conducts the gases of combustion from the oven upwardly to the lateral edges of the cooktop. A vent manifold is mounted on the top along each lateral edge of the cooktop and communicates with the duct on that side to distribute the exhaust gases forwardly and rearwardly along both lateral sides of the cooktop, whereby normal operation of the cooktop gas burners is not adversely affected, no hot spots of exhaust gases from the oven are created, and the working depth of the cooktop is maximized.

  • Patent number: 5860451
Abstract: Apparatus for providing an admixture of first and second fluids has a first body having opposite ends, a chamber between such opposite ends, an inlet for first fluid into that chamber, and an aperture for the admixture at an end of that chamber. That apparatus also includes a second body having an inlet aperture for second fluid spaced from the first body, an outlet aperture spaced inside the chamber from the aperture for the admixture, and a fluid flow channel decreasing in cross-sectional area from the inlet aperture spaced from the first body to the outlet aperture inside the chamber between opposite ends of the first body. Such first and second bodies jointly comprise a flange structure at the first body and between the inlet and outlet apertures of the second body. An admixture flow channel increases in cross-sectional area away from the aperture at the end of the chamber.

  • Patent number: 5074464
Abstract: A combined air and water temperature conditioning system provides for the heating of potable water and for the heating and cooling of indoor room air in a compact arrangement of components. A domestic type gas water heater having a driven draft direct vent system accepts a modular air handler on its top. The air handler comprises a heating coil within a closed loop water system and a pump circulating hot water between the water heater and the air handler coil. A blower in the air handler passes room air across the heating coil to an air outlet from an air inlet. An insertable second coil connected to a heat pump or air conditioner is optionally provided for heating or cooling air being propelled between the air inlet and outlet.
