  • Patent number: 8449648
Abstract: Method for drying compressed gas using a dryer with pressure vessels. The method having the steps of guiding a first part of the gas to a cooler via a regulating valve, and of subsequently drying this first part of the gas in the drying pressure vessel; and of heating a second part of the gas so as to regenerate the regenerating pressure vessel. When the temperature in the regenerating pressure vessel rises above an upper limit value, the regulating valve will be gradually moved in the direction of the shut position and, when the temperature in the regenerating pressure vessel drops under a predetermined bottom limit, the regulating valve will be gradually moved in the direction of the entirely open position, which adjustment allows to set the compressed gas at a desired temperature.

  • Publication number: 20100229719
Abstract: Method for drying compressed gas by means of a dryer (7) with pressure vessels (13 and 16), whereby this method comprises the steps of guiding a first part of the gas to a cooler (40) via a regulating valve (43), and of subsequently drying this first part of the gas in the drying pressure vessel (16); and of heating a second part of the gas so as to regenerate the regenerating pressure vessel (13), whereby, when the temperature in the regenerating pressure vessel (13) rises above an upper limit value, the regulating valve (43) will be gradually moved in the direction of the shut position and, when the temperature in the regenerating pressure vessel (13) drops under a predetermined bottom limit, the regulating valve (43) will be gradually moved in the direction of the entirely open position, which adjustment allows to set the compressed gas at a desired temperature.

  • Publication number: 20070029907
Abstract: A high-pressure discharge lamp with a reflector (2) and a cooling device is de-scribed wherein the cooling device consists of at least one pair of nozzles (7) which guide a cooling gas flow (8) onto the electrode lead-through of the discharge tube (3).

  • Publication number: 20060285335
Abstract: A cooling unit (2) having a pump (20) for generating an airflow is provided for cooling a High Power lamp (10) during operation. The value of the airflow is controlled by a control unit (3) which comprises a driver (30) for determining a required value of the airflow on the basis of the operating power of the lamp (10). The control unit (3) comprises two pressure sensors (32, 33) for measuring a pressure of the airflow as well as a pressure drop of the airflow across an orifice (31). The driver (30) is designed for processing the measuring results in order to determine an actual value of the airflow. The value of the airflow is accurately controlled by adjustment of the power supply to the pump (20) in order to obtain a match of the actual value of the airflow and the required value of the airflow.

  • Publication number: 20060181876
Abstract: A moving-head device (1) comprises afoot (10) and ahead (20) that is movably arranged with respect to the foot (10). The head (20) comprises a first rotation member (21) that is rotatable with respect to the foot (10) about a first rotation axis (51), and a second rotation member (22) that is rotatable with respect to the first rotation member (21) about a second rotation axis (81). A lamp (61) is arranged inside the first rotation member (21), while directing means (62, 70, 75, 77, 78) are provided for directing light originating from the lamp (61) to an external light outlet (31). If the first rotation axis (51) extends in a vertical direction, a portion of the lamp (61) constituting an upper side (64) does not change during operation of the moving-head device (1), so that said portion may be easily cooled continuously.

  • Publication number: 20060158125
Abstract: A lighting unit is described which has a discharge lamp (1), in particular a high pressure or high intensity discharge (HID) lamp or an ultra high performance (UHP) lamp, a lamp driver (2) and a cooling device (3). To reduce mechanical stresses caused by temperature variations in the lamp (1), one or more operating parameters of the lamp (1) are detected. In addition, a control unit is provided for controlling the lamp driver (2) and/or the cooling device (3) at least during switching on and/or off of the lighting unit in such a way that there is no excursion from a predetermined range of the at least one operating parameter. By selecting the parameter range suitably, the service life of the lamp may be extended considerably or the power of the lamp may be increased while the service life remains the same.

  • Publication number: 20060001340
Abstract: A discharge lamp, and particularly a high-pressure gas-discharge lamp (an HID (high-intensity discharge) lamp or UHP (ultra-high performance) lamp), having a reflector and a cooling means is described. The cooling means comprises at least one nozzle (3) by which a flow of gas can be directed onto the discharge lamp, the at least one nozzle (3) being so arranged that it does not extend, at least to any substantial degree, into a beam path produced by the lamp (2) and the reflector (1). In this way, the cooling means does not produce any obstacles on the beam path for the light. With preferred embodiments, it is possible to produce a turbulent flow that surrounds particularly the discharge vessel (21) of the lamp and that considerably increases the effectiveness of the cooling means. Further embodiments also allow the discharge lamp to be operated in a plurality of different positions without individual regions of the lamp being too little or too severely cooled.
