  • Publication number: 20230056762
Abstract: A fluidic device for processing a fluid or species therein is described. The device comprises a 3D channel including an inlet for receiving a sample fluid and an outlet for outputting the sample fluid. The channel is adapted for guiding flow of the sample fluid in an axial direction from the inlet to the outlet. The channel includes at least two side walls. The device also has a controllable flow inducer having electrodes for inducing, when the sample fluid is flowing through the channel, a motion of the sample fluid in the channel in a plane substantially orthogonal to the axial direction. Along at least one of the side walls at least part of the electrodes are formed by alternatingly at least an electrically conducting portion, an electrically insulating portion and a further electrically conducting portion.

  • Publication number: 20140021065
Abstract: The invention relates to a device for the measurement of hydrogen peroxide and optionally other biomarkers in a gaseous mixture, and in particular to a microfabricated device. The device comprises hydrogen peroxide capturing means and an electromechanical sensor comprising a sensing element in direct contact with the capturing means. The device further comprises means to measure the potential of the sensing element and/or the current through it as a result of a changing hydrogen peroxide concentration in the gaseous mixture. The device also comprises cooling/heating means for cooling and/or heating the capturing means. The device is preferably applied for online measurement of the hydrogen peroxide content in exhaled air.

  • Publication number: 20100031730
Abstract: The invention relates to a device for measuring the ammonia content in a gas mixture. The device comprises at least one inlet and one outlet for the gas mixture, between which is situated an ammonia measuring system connected thereto. The device also comprises first regulating means for regulating the gas mixture flow through the inlet, and second means which are adapted such that they allow a measurement of the ammonia content which is substantially independent of the gas mixture flow rate. The device is preferably applied for measuring the ammonia content in exhaled air.

  • Patent number: 6520010
Abstract: A system for characterizing a liquid comprises a sensor for providing an electrical output signal depending on a characteristic of the liquid, and a processing unit for processing the output signal of the sensor to obtain characterizing data of the liquid. The sensor is made as a single sensor/actuator device and can be connected in a plurality of manners to the processing unit. In at least some of these connecting manners the processing unit is adapted to actuate the sensor/actuator device and to process the output signal of the sensor/actuator device to obtain different characterizing data of the liquid.
