  • Patent number: 6250804
Abstract: A self-lubricating linear guide apparatus in which a lubricant storage chamber is formed within the slider so that no additional space is required. A fibrous member is employed which is inserted into the lubricant storage chamber to directly lubricate unloaded rolling elements such that loss of lubricant oil due to leakage is minimized and contamination to the working site is prevented. In addition, metallic powder or dust produced during manufacturing process can not ingress into the slider to choke up the fibrous member. An oil infusing aperture is reserved on the slider for replenishing the lubricant oil into the lubricant storage chamber in the case that lubricant oil stored therein is used up without the need of detaching the linear guide apparatus. The self-lubricating linear guide apparatus completely eliminates the disadvantage of too frequent lubricant oil replenishment as that is necessary for conventional techniques.

  • Patent number: 5909965
Abstract: A linear recirculation path unit for a roller bearing includes a linear loading passage, a linear unloading passage, and two direction reversing passages connected to the ends of the linear passages. Instead of simply designing the reversing passages so that the slopes or tangents of the linear and reversing passages are continuous at the connecting points, the reversing passages are arranged so that not only the slopes but also the curvatures of the linear and reversing passages vary continuously throughout the recirculation path, thereby reducing centrifugal acceleration of the rolling elements in the path, with consequent reductions in impact forces on walls of the passages, sliding function, and vibration induced noises.
