  • Patent number: 6062886
Abstract: An AC power supply socket is adapted for receiving an electrical plug and includes a housing having a top opening, a pair of socket terminals disposed in the housing, and a flexible cover mounted on the housing to cover the top opening sealingly. The cover has an insulating plate disposed above the socket terminals, and a pair of conductive hollow legs connected integrally with the insulating plate, aligned with the socket terminals, and adapted to receive a pair of conductive prongs of the plug. The insulating plate has an intermediate portion and two opposite flexible portions. The hollow legs extend downward from the intermediate portion into the housing without contacting the socket terminals in a normal state, and are movable downward further to contact the socket terminals when the insulating plate is flexed downward upon insertion of the plug into the hollow legs.

  • Patent number: 5720384
Abstract: An improvement of laser record protection folder over U.S. Pat. No. 5,501,326. There is a rectangular shape bag element for holding either a laser record or an index printing. A "Y"-shape dividing line and a slot opening are formed in one of the two pieces of the bag element to facilitate the insertion or removal of the laser record or index printing. The dividing line forms a sealed envelope on the bag element and thus can prevent the recording surface of the laser record from smearing by user's hand or ambient dust and dirt.

  • Patent number: 5697404
Abstract: An apparatus for driving a carriage of a shuttle in a weaving loom consists of a housing, a driven shaft rotatably mounted in the housing and a driving wheel rotatably mounted in the housing and having an axis of rotation orthogonal to that of the driven shaft. A spool is fixedly mounted on the driven shaft. A wire has an end fixedly attached on the spool and another end connected to a carriage. A plurality of rollers are attached on a circumferential periphery of the driven shaft. One of the rollers is engaged with one of a plurality of guiding channels defined on a circumferential periphery of the driving wheel. The guiding channels are so configured that when the driving wheel rotates, the driven shaft can repeatedly have the following modes of movement: firstly remaining in a static state, rotating and accelerating in a first direction, decelerating, staying in another static state, rotating and accelerating in a second direction, decelerating, and finally returning to the first static state.

  • Patent number: 5623047
Abstract: A catalyst composition for use in a polycondensation reaction for making poly(ethylene terephthalate) from terephthalic acid comprising: (a) an antimony salt catalyst present in a range from about 10 to about 1,000 ppm; (b) a metal salt catalyst of at least one of cobalt, magnesium, zinc, manganese, calcium, and lead, present in a range from about 10 to about 500 ppm; and (c) an alkali metal acetate, present in a range from about 10 to about 500 ppm; all amounts are based on the metallic elements relative to the theoretical yield of the poly(ethylene terephthalate), by weight, to be made from the terephthalic acid. The catalyst composition was found to have increased the reaction rate in the production of poly(ethylene terephthalate), as well as improved the color of the produced product, by reducing the degree of yellowness in the final poly(ethylene terephthalate) product. Attenuation of the yellowish color indicates a reduction in the amount of undesired side reaction product.

  • Patent number: 5504903
Abstract: A microcontroller fabricated on a semiconductor chip is adapted, when operating, to execute programs and instructions and, in response, to generate control signals to selectively control external apparatus. A clock generates timing signals to control the timing of the microcontroller execution and operation. An on-chip program memory has space avilable for storing a program to be executed by the microcontroller in sequential steps in successive address locations of the program memory. An instruction stored in unerasable memory on the chip initiates self-programming of the program memory with the program to be executed by the microcontroller by enabling a pointer timed by the clock to alternately read addresses containing steps of the program to be executed from off-chip memories and to write same into successive addresses of the on-chip program memory by incrementing the latter addresses with each step to be written therein.

  • Patent number: 4276829
Abstract: The method of forming a charge-image on a charge-retaining object by applying an electrical image-activating energy and a mechanical image-activating energy in a manner to result in the functional dependence of the charge density of the consequent charge-image to the magnitudes of the image-activating energies and to the length of the activating time period, enabling the charge-image or the subsequent visible image to have a uniform desired level of desired density, controlled multiple levels of density, controlled continuously varying density, or a combination thereof. It also enables the trading off of charge density for a lower image-activating voltage and the trading off of charge-imaging speed for higher charge density. The resulting image is of high fidelity to the original.
