    Abstract: An embossed type write-once DVD structure comprises a lower substrate, a recording layer, a reflecting layer and an upper substrate. Embossed marks of a specific depth are formed on the lower substrate. The recording layer has a specific refractive index and is formed on the lower substrate. The reflecting layer covers on the recording layer. The upper substrate is then sealed with the lower substrate to protect each layer therein. Different laser sources can be used for data recording. The lower substrate with embossed marks can be produced using a stamper. Therefore, it is not necessary to use a laser source to emboss in the recording layer. The manufacturing cost can thus be lowered, and the production yield can be enhanced through simplification of the manufacturing process.

    Abstract: The present invention discloses a burr removing apparatus including a base for placing the compact disc on, and a pressing apparatus equipped on the base and corresponding to the inner circle of the compact disc for moving up and down to eliminate a bur at the inner circle of the compact disc. An upper and a lower inhaling apparatus are respectively equipped in the pressing apparatus and the base, and extend respectively to the surfaces of the pressing apparatus and the base. The upper and lower inhaling apparatus have the upper and lower inhaling holes to inhale the bur eliminated. The present invention eliminates and inhales the redundancy before bonding the discs, so the smoothness of the disc can be improved to avoid the bubbles while bonding, and providing a disc with good mechanical properties and weather-resistance.

    Abstract: A recordable optical disc and a method for manufacturing a mother disc thereof are proposed. The recordable optical disc comprises a substrate with a spiral groove wobbled in a fixed period. The recordable optical disc is characterized in that the spiral groove has a plurality of transient side-wobble regions not in the wobble period and used as recording regions of address data. In the method of manufacturing a mother disc of the optical disc, a spiral groove is first formed on a mother disc substrate by using an etching source wobbling in a fixed period. A transient side-wobble not in the wobble period is inserted between several wobble periods to form a spiral groove having transient side-wobble regions on the mother disc substrate. The stability of manufacture of the mother disc can thus be greatly enhanced, and the PI error rate of the optical disc can be lowered.
