  • Publication number: 20130320903
Abstract: For each phase of a controller, a pair of semiconductor switches comprises a high side switch and a low side switch. A direct current voltage bus provides electrical energy to the semiconductor switches at a test voltage level less than a full operational voltage level. A measuring circuit is adapted to measure the direct current bus voltage. A data processor determines that a deficiency in a tested, related semiconductor switch is present if the measured direct current bus voltage decreases or collapses upon activation of a particular semiconductor switch in the same phase of the controller, or if other sequential test results indicate a deficiency. If the deficiency in the related semiconductor switch is present the processor may prevent the voltage supply from providing the full operational voltage to the direct current data bus to prevent damage to the motor or the controller, for example.

  • Patent number: 7483266
Abstract: A mounting apparatus for a data storage device includes a chassis (10), a data storage device (70) with a groove defined in a sidewall thereof, a supporting bracket (20) fixed to the chassis (10), an elastic tab (25) mounted to the supporting bracket (20), a connecting rod (30) movably attached to the supporting bracket (20) and a poke rod (40) pivotably mounted to the supporting bracket (20) and movably connected with the connecting rod (40). The supporting bracket (20) has a sidewall (22) with a rectangular hole (226) defined therein. The elastic tab (25) has a protrusion (256) extending through the rectangular hole (226) for engaging in the groove. The connecting rod (30) has a post (332) for urging the elastic tab (25) to move outwards. That the connecting rod (30) is pushed urges the data storage device (70) to retreat from the supporting bracket (20).

  • Patent number: 7369403
Abstract: A mounting apparatus for securing a storage device (50) with a mounting hole (522) defined therein includes a bracket (20) for receiving the storage device, an operating member (40), a fastening member (30) and a resilient member (60) compressed by the fastening member. A through opening (248) is defined in the bracket. The operating member movably engages with the bracket includes a pressing portion. The fastening member pivotably attaches to the bracket includes a locking portion. The locking portion extends through the through opening of the bracket and engages in the mounting hole of the storage device under the pressure of the pressing portion of the operating member. When the operating member is pulled off, the resilient member rebounds to rotate the locking portion, thereby disengaging the locking portion from the mounting hole of the storage device.
