Device for transferring a material in the form of a film applied to a carrier strip onto a substrate
Patent number: 6792664Abstract: A device for transferring a film from a carrier strip onto a substrate such as a sheet of writing or drawing paper comprises a housing in which a supply reel and an empty reel are arranged. The film-coated carrier strip is guided over an applicator foot which is looped around by the carrier strip with a clip-type slide element of a friction-reducing material secured to the applicator foot. The applicator foot comprises a pivotally hinged extension arm having an end in the end portion for receiving a profile member for the slide element.Type: GrantFiled: November 15, 2002Date of Patent: September 21, 2004Assignee: Pritt Produktionsgesellschaft mbHInventors: Wulf Herrmannsen, Wolfgang Bauersachs, Christoph Manusch, Hartmut Rudolf -
Patent number: 6629552Abstract: A device for transferring a film from a carrier strip onto a substrate includes a housing having a supply reel and an empty reel. A film coated carrier strip is guided over an applicator foot where a clip-type slide element is provided in the region around which the carrier strip is looped. The clip-type slide element is made of a friction-reducing material secured to the applicator foot. The slide element has an elliptical cross-sectional shape so that on transfer of the film onto the substrate the contact pressure region of the slide element bears over an area adjacent to the substrate with interposition of the carrier strip.Type: GrantFiled: March 28, 2001Date of Patent: October 7, 2003Assignee: Pritt Produktionsgesellschft mbHInventors: Wulf Herrmannsen, Wolfgang Bauersachs, Christoph Manusch, Hartmut Rudolf

Patent number: 6564847Abstract: A device for transferring a film from a carrier strip a substrate comprises a supply reel for the film coated carrier strip and an empty reel for receiving the de-coated carrier strip. The carrier strip is guided over an applicator base and over deflector rollers. The effective working edge of applicator base is arranged to be inclined at a fixed angle between 40° and 50° relative to the reel axes.Type: GrantFiled: April 2, 2001Date of Patent: May 20, 2003Assignee: Pritt Produktionsgesellschaft mbHInventors: Wulf Herrmannsen, Christoph Manusch, Wolfgang Bauersachs

Patent number: 6145770Abstract: In a friction coupling for the torque-limiting transmission of force between a core of a coil for winding or unwinding a tape and a rotary support for said core there is a first coupling component with an annular cross-section and a second coupling component taking the form of a moulding, in which the annular coupling component is in frictional engagement at several spaced contact points distributed over its periphery with contact area regions on the moulding, and in which one of the two coupling components is secured to the core of the coil, and the other coupling component is a component of the rotary support. The moulding is rigidly dimensionally stable while the annular first coupling component is made of a flexible material. On the occurrence of a relative movement between the two coupling components, the moulding continually deforms the annual coupling component via the contact points.Type: GrantFiled: May 12, 1999Date of Patent: November 14, 2000Assignee: Pritt Produktionsgesellschaft mbHInventors: Christoph Manusch, Wulf Herrmannsen, Olaf Balke

Patent number: 6105650Abstract: A hand-held device for transferring a film from a carrier tape to a substrate includes an applicator with an end projecting from a housing around which the carrier tape coming from a supply roll is guided to a take-up spool and on which contact surfaces are provided for the "pull" and "push" operating modes of the device, the carrier tape being pressed against the substrate by the contact surfaces for the purpose of transferring the film. The applicator contains two application toes which are separated from one another by an empty space and each of which carries one of the two contact surfaces.Type: GrantFiled: February 24, 1999Date of Patent: August 22, 2000Assignee: Pritt Produktionsgesellschaft mbHInventors: Christoph Manusch, Wulf Herrmannsen, Olaf Balke

Patent number: 6079660Abstract: In a gear arrangement for driving the spool core (11) of a take-up spool for a transfer tape (5) through the spool core (3) of a feed spool arranged laterally of and radially offset from the take-up spool in the housing (2) of a transfer dispenser or in a refill cassette (1) for a transfer dispenser, comprising a first gearwheel (28) which is driven by the feed spool and which meshes with a second gearwheel (26,27) designed to drive the take-up spool (11), the pitch diameter of the second gearwheel (27) being smaller than that of the first gearwheel (28), a slipping clutch (16) being provided between the spool core (11) of one of the two spools and the associated gearwheel (27) and a radially projecting annular disc (13;14) being disposed on each spool core (3;11) and its side facing the other spool, the two spool cores (3,11) bear partly against one another through their mutually opposite annular discs (13,14).Type: GrantFiled: March 18, 1999Date of Patent: June 27, 2000Assignee: Pritt Produktionsgesellschaft mbHInventors: Christoph Manusch, Wulf Herrmannsen, Udo Obersteller

Patent number: 5512128Abstract: An applicator for a film carried on a tape has a housing having a main part and a cover part that normally fit complementarily together. A supply spool on which the tape carrying the film is wound is rotatable in the main housing part. A takeup spool onto which the tape is wound is rotatable in the main housing part adjacent the supply spool. A slide is displaceable longitudinally in the housing between a retracted inner end position relatively close to the spools and an extended outer end position relatively far from the spools and projecting from the housing. The tape is spanned over an applicator foot fixed on and displaceable with the slide. Structure on the housing releasably retains the foot and slide in the front extended position. The spools can be replaced by removing the housing cover part and then pushing the foot back into the inner end position, thereby taking all tension off the tape. The two spools are then removed and a new set of spools joined by a new tape are set in place.Type: GrantFiled: July 1, 1994Date of Patent: April 30, 1996Assignee: Pritt Produktionsgesellschaft mbHInventors: Christoph Manusch, Udo Obersteller, Wulf Herrmannsen

Patent number: 5480510Abstract: A cartridge for a film applicator has a body having parallel and spaced upper and lower end walls formed with respective upper and lower coaxial holes, a supply spool having a core ring and sandwiched between the end walls coaxial with the holes, a takeup spool, and holding formations on the body releasably securing the takeup spool underneath the lower end wall coaxial with the holes and supply spool so that the spools axially flank the lower end wall. A guide extends parallel to the hole axis through the lower wall and the guide, supply spool, and body are made of substantially the same material. A supply of tape has an outer end fixed to the takeup spool and an inner end and forms a loop having an upper leg engaging the guide between the end walls and a lower leg engaging the guide below the lower end wall The inner end of the tape is releasably secured to the supply spool so it can be separated therefrom with very little force, and a pair of spaced arms unitarily formed with the body hold the loop.Type: GrantFiled: July 1, 1994Date of Patent: January 2, 1996Assignee: Pritt Produktionsgesellschaft mbHInventors: Christoph Manusch, Udo Obersteller, Wulf Herrmannsen
