  • Patent number: 7441980
Abstract: A device for joining a first component A and a second component B while leaving a joining gap SP includes a bolt 4 and a compensating coil 2 for compensating tolerances of the joining gap. The compensating coil is adapted to be fixed to the bolt 4 by frictional engagement means and/or releasable positive engagement means. The dimensions of the compensating coil are adapted to a helical rim hole portion 6 of the first component A such that actuation of the bolt 4 causes the compensating coil to rotate through the helical rim hole portion until it fills the joining gap for the purpose of tolerance compensation, and the frictional engagement means and/or releasable positive engagement means is overcome by further actuation of the bolt 4 so that the bolt can be screwed into a threaded hole of the second component B to join the two components.

  • Patent number: 7024898
Abstract: A process as claimed for the invention for internal high-pressure reshaping of a hollow section (12) in a reshaping tool, a fluid being introduced under high pressure P1 into a hollow section and this section having a transitional area with different wall thicknesses in the area of an edge (18 to 21) to be blocked, is characterized in that the shape selected for the hollow section (12) in the initial state is such that a thickened area (22 to 25) extends a certain distance from the edge (18 to 21) into the wall section (14, 16) with smaller wall thickness. As a result, constrictions can be avoided during reshaping and favorable edge geometries can be achieved (FIG. 2).

  • Publication number: 20030051332
Abstract: A method of fastening two or more components together by rivets. Drivers (12) drive the rivets through the components and against dollies (6) and/or clinch them. The object is a method that can be carried out with lighter-weight devices and at higher speeds. The components that are to be fastened together rest on a device that the dollies are part of. The device (3) is provided with means of positioning, securing, and guiding the components. The individual dollies (6) are positioned below the riveting points.

  • Patent number: 6158557
Abstract: The invention relates to a roller spindle assembly (2) having a spindle rod (4) and a spindle nut (6) and roller bearings (10). The roller bearings are journalled between the spindle nut (6) and the spindle rod (4). The spindle rod (4) and the spindle nut (6) move relative to each other and, for a relative movement of the spindle rod to the spindle nut (6), the roller bearings (10) are displaced out of a start position. The roller bearings (10) are journalled in a cage (8) resiliently biased by a return spring (12). With the cage (8), the roller bearings (10) are guided back into the start position after a completed displacement from the start position when the spindle rod (4) and spindle nut (6) are at rest. In this way, it is not necessary to provide a conventional return of the roller bearings (10) with the aid of complex return-guide channels in the spindle nut (6).

  • Patent number: 5949168
Abstract: The invention relates to an electric motor having a locking device and a brake actuator for an electric system which includes such an electric motor. The locking brake has a simple configuration and includes a conical ring which is mounted so as to be axially displaceable on the motor shaft of the electric motor of the brake actuator. In a first axial position, the conical ring (26) permits a rotation of the motor shaft (12) in both directions and, in a second axial position, the conical ring is in engagement with the motor shaft (12) and rotates with the latter. In the second axial position of the conical ring (26), a rotation of the motor shaft (12) in one rotational direction leads to the situation that the conical ring (26) is in engagement with the lock ring (24) of the brake actuator (2). The lock ring (24) is fixed so that it cannot rotate relative to the motor shaft (12).

  • Patent number: 4404937
Abstract: A valve controlled stroke piston combustion engine is provided with a cam shaft which supports a number of cams equal in number to the inlet and outlet valves. The individual cylinders are switched off by closing the associated inlet and outlet valves. The cams are associated with the valves and are rotatably mounted and axially non-displaceable on the cam shaft. Dogs are fixedly mounted on said cam shaft and cooperate with said cams. Each cam is provided with a front face having a concentric annular section groove with a continuously increasing depth with respect to the rotating axis of the cam shaft. The annular section groove ends have a radial abutment face; and each dog is provided with an axial protrusion on a front face facing the corresponding cam with the protrusion engaging on the abutment face during a switched on valve.Pretensionable springs are provided for the engagement and disengagement of dogs.

  • Patent number: 4348915
Abstract: This invention relates to switching apparatus for mechanical remote control of the gear box of the motor vehicle.A gear lever 1 is connected to one end of a gear selector rod 4 such that movement of the gear lever can cause axial or rotary movement of the rod. A two arm intermediate link 5 is connected to the other end of rod 4 for movement therewith. One arm is operatively connected to main gear shaft 13 by a link (10, 11 and 12) while the other arm is operatively connected to main gear shaft 13 by a link (6, 15, 16-19, 22, 24, 25, 30 and 31). The first mentioned link converts the rotary movement of rod 4 into longitudinal movement of shaft 13, while the second link converts axial movement of rod 4 into rotary movement of shaft 13.The two links are so arranged so as to take up or absorb vibrational or other movement transmitted from the gear box so as to reduce or avoid vibration of gear lever 1.
