    Abstract: X-ray image detection apparatus in which an image detector is pivotally mounted on a carrier arm which in turn is pivotally mounted on a vertical column. A sprocket wheel and chain arrangement operatively interconnects the image detector, the carrier arm and the vertical column such that as the carrier arm is pivoted about a horizontal axis in one direction relative to the vertical column, the image detector is pivoted in an opposite direction.
