    Abstract: Embodiments of the present invention relate to the field of communications technologies and provide a method for transmitting system information, an apparatus, and a system, to reduce a delay in obtaining correct system information by a terminal device. According to the synchronization signal sending method provided in the embodiments of this application, a bandwidth loss of a synchronization signal is reduced, and utilization and synchronization performance of a system synchronization bandwidth are improved.

In the embodiments of the present application, the UE suspends the timer at the end moment of the previous COD and resumes the timer at the end moment of the LP of the next COD.
