Patent number: 12140059Abstract: A device and method for correcting emissions can include a first sensor that measures a sample of air not containing an exhaust gas, and a second sensor, wherein the exhaust gas enters a settling chamber and a relative humidity of the exhaust gas is measured by the second sensor. A microcomputer can calculate a mass of water vapor in the sample of air measured by the first sensor and in the exhaust gas measured by the second sensor and can determine a dilution factor of the measured exhaust gas. The dilution factor can be used for correcting emissions based on the measurements of the exhaust gas made by the first sensor and the second sensor. The first and second sensors can comprise one or more of, for example, a relative humidity sensor, a dew point sensor, a trace water vapor sensor and/or other types of sensors.Type: GrantFiled: April 12, 2023Date of Patent: November 12, 2024Assignee: Honeywell International Inc.Inventor: Wyatt Culler

Publication number: 20240125554Abstract: A flame analytics system that may incorporate a burner, one or more sensors at the burner, a historical database connected to the one or more sensors, a model training module connected to the historical database, and a runtime algorithm module connected to the one or more sensors and the model training module. The runtime algorithm may compare realtime data from the one or more sensors and historical data from the model training module in accordance with a machine learning algorithm. The system may further incorporate a fault detection module connected to the runtime algorithm module, a fault diagnostics module connected to the fault detection module, and an enunciator connected to the fault detection module. The one or more sensors may also include having video or acoustic sensitivity of combustion in the burner.Type: ApplicationFiled: December 27, 2023Publication date: April 18, 2024Inventors: David Kucera, Curtis Taylor, Jonathan McDonald, Gregory Stewart, Wyatt Culler

Patent number: 11841139Abstract: Methods and systems for resonance suppression, can involve measuring signals with one or more sensors, wherein the signals are produced by a combustor associated with an actuator, and receiving at a controller the signals measured by the sensor or sensors. The controller can calculate a damping rate of the combustor. Based on the damping rate, the controller can modulate the actuator if the damping rate falls below a predefined threshold and can continue to modulate the actuator until the damping rate is adjusted and the resonance is suppressed. The sensor can be an acoustic sensor, an optical sensor, or another type of sensor.Type: GrantFiled: February 22, 2020Date of Patent: December 12, 2023Assignee: Honeywell International Inc.Inventor: Wyatt Culler

Patent number: 11599102Abstract: An electronic device and a method are disclosed. The electronic device includes a sensor, a memory, a processor, and a communication interface. The sensor is configured to detected vibrations of a burner system including any component of a burner system. The memory is configured to store the detected vibrations. The processor is configured to record the detected vibrations caused by the burner system at a predetermined time interval. The processor is also configured to generate a report of the recorded vibrations caused by a burner component to indicate the operational status of the burner, wherein the generated report includes at least two recorded vibrations. The communication interface configured to transmit the generated report.Type: GrantFiled: January 8, 2021Date of Patent: March 7, 2023Assignee: Honeywell International Inc.Inventors: Wyatt Culler, David Kucera, Martin Bragg
