  • Publication number: 20090251760
Abstract: A micro mirror device includes a hinge supported upon a substrate. The hinge has a length and a width substantially parallel to an upper surface of the substrate, and has a thickness substantially perpendicular to the upper surface of the substrate. The thickness is larger than the width. A mirror plate is tiltable around the hinge. The hinge can produce an elastic restoring force on the mirror plate when the mirror plate tilts away from an un-tilted position.

Abstract: The present invention is directed to processes for the synthesis of morphinans. In particular, a process for coupling a carboxylic acid compound with an amine compound to form an amide product that can then be isolated or the crude amide product can be cyclized to form a 3,4-dihydroisoquinoline. In one embodiment, the carboxylic acid contains a phenol moiety protected with a labile protecting group. The protected phenol reduces reaction times, simplifies work-up of the product, and reduces the amount of cyclizing agent, POCl3 that is necessary to form the 3,4-dihydroisoquinoline.

  • Patent number: 7595429
Abstract: A composition for promoting the formation of clots in blood comprises a binder and a zeolite disposed in the binder, the zeolite having an adjusted calcium content. A method of forming a blood-clotting composition comprises the steps of providing a zeolite, combining the zeolite with a binder, and adjusting a calcium content of the zeolite to have an amount of calcium such that upon application of the composition to a wound, a heat of hydration is reduced and thereby heat transferred to the wound is reduced. A method of clotting blood flowing from a wound comprises the steps of applying a zeolite to the wound and maintaining the zeolite in contact with the wound for a predetermined amount of time. The zeolite preferably has an adjusted calcium content and is capable of producing a controllable blood clotting effect on the wound.

  • Publication number: 20090240981
Abstract: A method of booting a multi-processor data processing device includes establishing a link between a first processor and a memory. The link is monitored to determine if, in response to a request from the processor, expected initialization data is communicated between the memory and the first processor. If unexpected data is detected on the link, the link is severed and a new link established between a second processor and the memory to allow the second processor to initiate the boot process. This ensures that, in the event of an error in the boot process at the first processor, the device can complete the boot process, thereby reducing device downtime.
