  • Patent number: 7018417
Abstract: The present invention relates to a socket for an artificial hip joint. The present invention provides an artificial joint socket for knocking into a bone, with an excellent primary stabilization, which may be manufactured so that at least two locking elements are arranged in the distal superficies region of the socket shell. The locking elements anchor the socket shell in the hip bone and safeguard against tensile forces, torsion forces, and combined tensile and torsion forces. The locking elements effectively prevent the socket from rotating-out opposite the knock-in direction. When knocking in the implant, the locking elements cut into the bone and rotate the socket shell about the socket axis by a few degrees.

  • Publication number: 20040243247
Abstract: Disclosed is a socket (1) for an artificial hipjoint, comprising a base body or shell (10) having an especially spherical, ellipsoidal or conical covering surface (11) which is essentially rotationally symmetrical with the axis of the socket (AP). At least two locking elements (20) are arranged on the outer side of the base body (10), respectively comprising an insertable rib (21). The locking elements (20) are symmetrically distributed on the periphery of the socket (1). When the implant is inserted, the locking elements cut into the bone and rotate the socket shell by a small number of degrees around the axis of the socket. In a particularly preferred embodiment, the pitch of the rib-shaped locking elements in relation to the base area increases from the distal or equatorial end to the proximal or pole-sided end, whereby the locking elements clamp and lock the implant so that it can withstand axial traction forces, radial torsion forces and a combination of both forces.

  • Patent number: 5593446
Abstract: An anchoring shaft for a joint endoprosthesis includes a rectilinear core. The core is provided with a shape tapering towards a distal end and a series of sawtooth-shaped teeth. The teeth are formed by ribs which extend in a longitudinal direction of the shaft. The ribs have a rectangular cross-section and a uniform thickness along their length. The teeth are defined as a long tooth flank and with a short, steep tooth flank. The shaft is usable for many joint endoprosthesis, including hip joint prosthesis.

  • Patent number: 4708447
Abstract: An apparatus for the endless projection of a cinematographic film comprises a horizontal, rotatable table (24) and a winding drum (34) positioned in the center of the table. The film (22) to be projected is formed to a film roll (25) surrounding the winding drum (34). An annular body (61) of the winding drum (34) is provided at its outer periphery with a great number of rotatable support rollers (64) having vertical axles (65), for radially supporting the innermost winding of the film roll (25). On the upper side of the table (24) a plurality of horizontal support rollers (40, 41) are arranged, the axles of which are radial to the table (24). The axial length of each horizontal support roller (40, 41) is substantially shorter than the radial dimension of the table (24). The annular body (61) of the winding drum (34) is provided with a radial slit (120), through which the innermost winding of the film roll (25) can be drawn off.
