  • Patent number: 11078011
Abstract: A container (10) is produced from a spiral-shaped, bent sheet strip (20) having a first edge section (22) extending in a spiral shape, being bent, and forming a bending edge (24) extending in a spiral shape toward the inside or the outside of the container (10). The sheet strip (20) has a second edge section (32) opposite the first edge section (22) in the longitudinal direction of the sheet strip (20) and extends in a spiral shape. The second edge section (32) overlaps a third section (28) opposite the first edge section (22) in relation to the bending edge (24) and is adjacent to the bending edge (24). The second edge section (32) and the third section (28) are welded to each other in the region of the overlap (30). The welding seam (40) extends at least partially into the region between the second edge section (32) and the third section (28) of the sheet strip (20).

  • Patent number: 10246211
Abstract: A container is produced from a single-layered, helically bent sheet metal strip. In the strip's upper or lower border region a first helically running border portion of the strip is bent out via a helically running outwardly bent edge with a curved region toward the outside of the container as a protruding flange. A second helically running border portion is in the lower/upper border region. The border regions each border one another adjacently height-wise and are connected to one another in a fluid-tight manner via a continuous, helically running welded joint. The second border portion runs rectilinearly in the plane of the strip and the welded joint has a first and a second weld seam. The first and second weld seams are applied from the outside and the inside of the container, respectively, and the two weld seams are fused to each other in the weld route thereof.

  • Patent number: 6391628
Abstract: A digester with an agitator and a method of operating an agitator in a digester can be used, for instance, in agricultural biogas plants and communal clarification plants. The digester with an agitator and the method feature improved mixing of the waste products in the digester and enhanced digester efficiency. The digester includes a preferably round bottom surface, a filler rod and an agitator with a drive axle, preferably arranged on the periphery of the digester. The agitator is mounted in a stirring shaft or stirring pipe arranged underneath the filler standard. The method for operating the agitator in a digester involves stirring the content while material is fed into the digester through the filler standard.

  • Patent number: 5211326
Abstract: A method is described for manufacturing a built-up sheet panel by forming a double flanged joint with raised flange edges between sheets arranged alongside of each other, which are then welded together by means of a driven welding carriage, the raised flange edges being shortened in accordance with the invention shortly in front of the welding.A welding carriage suitable for this purpose is provided on its lower side, in front of a welding device as seen in the direction of travel, with a parting device which is preferably developed as driven pair of cutting rollers. In this way in particular thin sheets can be assembled with excellent quality to form a sheet panel.

  • Patent number: 4718965
Abstract: A cable for structures, especially suspension bridges, has a plurality of bundled tension elements spacedly surrounded by a tubular sheath, the space between tension elements and sheath being filled with a material, preferably injected mortar. To reduce the cost of producing, transporting and assembling such a cable, the tubular sheath is formed at the worksite from at least one sheet-steel strip in a shaping and seaming station and progressed along already tensioned tension elements, then sealed against anchorings for the cable, and filled with the mortar under pressure.

  • Patent number: 4226565
Abstract: A system for storage of green fodder and the like includes a cylindrical storage tank removably carried on a trailer which can be towed by a tractor. The frame of the trailer carries a tiltable platform having a rotatable plate on which the tank rests. The frame also carries a vertically movable apparatus for supporting either compaction rollers insertable into the tank top for compressing fodder as it is conveyed into the tank, or an elevator mechanism for lifting the tank away from its bottom cover to expose compacted fodder for removal. The tank is rotated during loading/compaction and removal. Compression of the fodder greatly increases the amount of fodder storable in each tank. After filling the platform is tilted, the tank is removed and can be rolled to a storage location with its axis horizontal.

  • Patent number: 4081981
Abstract: Apparatus for forming pipe from an elongated metal strip including a supply reel for the strip, an elongated tubular carrier, an axle at one end of the carrier for supporting the supply reel and edge-forming means for bending the edges of the strip to join them in a helical fashion to form the pipe wall. In one embodiment, the supply reel is supported at one end of the carrier and the strip is guided through the carrier and out through an opening near the other end. The carrier is supported for horizontal rotation. Near the opening there are guide rolls arranged in a helical path so that the strip emerges through the carrier, goes through the guide rolls, and then goes through the edge-forming devices including profiling and rabbeting rolls, also helically arranged. A motor is mounted at that end of the carrier and a chain drive from the motor drives the profiling and rabbeting rolls.
