  • Patent number: 4036444
Abstract: A housing structure is formed with a suction connection to which pneumatic suction is applied, the suction connection internally terminating in a nozzle which surrounds a rotatable centering cone. The support for the spinning cop, externally of the nozzle, is ring-shaped. A thread drawn out by suction through the nozzle past the ring-shaped support can be clamped against the lower surface thereof upon axial movement of a clamping element for a first distance, complete movement of the clamping element then clamping a further portion of the drawn-off thread against a second clamping surface so that the thread will be taut, and placed in interfering position with a knife edge which cuts the thread at a predetermined point to ensure severing of the drawn-off thread. To provide for a long foot lap, the cop can be lifted repeatedly off the support surface after the thread has been first clamped so that thread is unwound therefrom.

  • Patent number: 4036353
Abstract: A group of grippers, for example three, are located around a centering cone which is arranged to penetrate into and center a spinning cop. The grippers have jaws which, at the inner side, have a gripping engagement zone, for example, formed by a resilient, such as plastic, insert. Upon axial movement of a spinning cop to engage the centering cone, the grippers are cranked upwardly against the circumference of a holding bell, to pivot about the edge of the spinning cop and engage the end of the spinning cop by the engagement surfaces of the grippers, so that that portion of the spinning cop is gripped which is normally free of thread, or yarn thereon and damage to the yarn is avoided. The entire assembly is rotatively supported on a swing-arm to swing in one position to pick up the cone, move into another position for handling of yarn on the cop, for example, removing of a foot-lap, and to yet another position for delivery of the cop to the winding machine mechanism.

  • Patent number: 3970004
Abstract: A spinning projectile with a projectile body and a hollow charge component rotatably mounted in the projectile body and axially displaceable by the propellant gases, further including means in order to hold the hollow charge component in its displaced position. According to the invention the aforementioned means are constructed as locking elements which maintain the hollow charge component in the displaced position at the projectile body even after there has been an abatement of the pressure of the propellant charge.
