  • Patent number: 4426178
Abstract: An apparatus for cutting and threading pipe comprising a portable support frame formed by disengagable members, cutting and threading units mounted on the frame and a pipe clamp fixed to the frame between the cutting and threading units. The cutting and threading units have separate drive motors. The threading unit is slidably and rotatably mounted on a guide pipe for pivotal movement between operative and inoperative positions and for axial movement toward and away from the cutting unit during threading operations. The pipe clamp non-rotatably holds the pipe during the cutting and threading operations and extends the entire distance between the cutting and threading units when located closest to one another.

  • Patent number: 4132495
Abstract: A die head has replaceable radially slidable threading dies moved by a bushing with cams. As the workpiece is threaded to the desired length, its end contacts cam surfaces which move a sensor bolt and a control pin to disengage the bushing from a locked position. The bushing can then move axially to radially retract the threading dies from the workpiece.

  • Patent number: 4025219
Abstract: To simplify the apparatus and reduce handling, a pipe threading section and a pipe cutting section are axially aligned with respect to a pipe clamping apparatus, both located at the same side of the pipe clamping section. A guide is provided, extending parallel to the axis of the pipe, to guide the clamping section on the apparatus for movement in selected positions, the moving distance of the clamping section being greater than the distance between that side of the threading tool of the pipe threading section and the cutting tool of the cutting tool section which faces the clamping section.

  • Patent number: 3974562
Abstract: In a pipe cutting device, a stationary chuck for holding a workpiece is connected to a bearing housing, the chuck and bearing housing are in axial alignment. A ring is concentrically mounted within the bearing housing and a cutting support is eccentrically pivotally mounted in the ring and carries a cutting member. The cutting support can be pivoted between a rest position with the cutting member spaced from the workpiece to a cutting position with the cutting member in contact with the workpiece. From the cutting position, the cutting support engages and drives the ring so that both the cutting support and ring move along a concentric path about the workpiece for effecting the cutting operation.
