Publication number: 20250201041Abstract: A method for operating an agricultural device system. The agricultural system has a first rotating component having a first speed sensor, a second rotating component having a second speed sensor, a control unit coupled with the first speed sensor and the second speed sensor and having a user interface for an operator. The method includes monitoring measurements of the first speed sensor, in response to detecting a malfunctioning of the first speed sensor, taking a measurement of the second speed sensor, and using the measurement of the second speed sensor to derive measurements that approximate the measurements that the first speed sensor would generate, wherein after detecting a malfunctioning of the first speed sensor, the operator on the user interface is given the selection of continuing with operating the agricultural system with restricted functionality or of ceasing the operation of the agricultural system.Type: ApplicationFiled: December 19, 2024Publication date: June 19, 2025Applicant: CNH Industrial Belgium N.V.Inventors: Yves Loosfelt, Lynn Derynck, Xavier Bonte

Patent number: 10578165Abstract: An industrial work vehicle including a frame and a first shaft rotatably connected to the frame via first and second bearings. The work vehicle further includes a second shaft rotatably positioned in line with the first shaft and connected to the first shaft via a coupling. The second shaft is further connected to the frame via a third bearing. The coupling includes a first connection and a second connection. The first connection connects the first shaft to the second shaft via a fourth bearing adapted to support a radial load and to accommodate an axial rotation and an angular misalignment of one shaft with respect to the other shaft. The second connection connects the first shaft to the second shaft via flange elements which are interconnected via an intermediary element adapted to transmit a torque and to accommodate a misalignment of one shaft with respect to the other shaft.Type: GrantFiled: February 22, 2017Date of Patent: March 3, 2020Assignee: CNH Industrial America LLCInventors: Xavier Bonte, Ruben Gryson

Patent number: 10455754Abstract: A clutch for an agricultural implement including a rotating unit for connection to a powered shaft, a selectively disengageable unit, a zero-backlash torque limiter operable in an engaged position where a biased plunger is housed in a seat to angularly connect the rotating unit and the selectively disengageable unit for torque transfer until a maximum torque level is reached; and in a disengaged position where the plunger is retracted outside the seat. Further, a safety occlusion mechanism having an obstructing element selectively movable in an obstructing position to hinder the seat from housing the plunger and in a release position to allow shape coupling when the plunger and the seat overlap. The occlusion mechanism is biased to switch in the obstructing position and the release position is instated by an operator.Type: GrantFiled: October 6, 2017Date of Patent: October 29, 2019Assignee: CNH Industrial America LLCInventors: Enrico Giuliani, Xavier Bonte

Publication number: 20070278845Abstract: A clamping plate 30 is disclose for securing the central disc 24 of a wheel 12 to a wheel flange 14 on an axle 16 of an agricultural vehicle. The flange 14 has a plurality of holes regularly distributed about a pitch circle and the central disc 24 of the wheel and the clamping plate 30 have holes aligned with the holes in the flange 14 for receiving bolts 26 by means of which the central disc 24 of the wheel 12 is clamped between the clamping plate 30 and the flange 14. In the invention, the outer diameter of the clamping plate 30 exceeds the diameter of the pitch circle of the holes in the clamping plate by a distance greater than twice the diameter of the bolts 26.Type: ApplicationFiled: May 31, 2007Publication date: December 6, 2007Inventors: Jean-Pierre Vandendriessche, Xavier Bonte

Publication number: 20060283277Abstract: A final drive for an agricultural vehicle has a casing, a wheel shaft supported in the casing by means of two support bearings spaced from one another along the length of the wheel shaft, an input shaft rotatably supported in the casing with its axis parallel to but laterally offset from that of the wheel shaft, and a bull gear connected to the wheel shaft by means of a splined coupling disposed between the support bearings of the wheel shaft and having external teeth meshing with teeth on the input shaft to transmit torque to the wheel shaft from the input shaft. In order to reduce wear on the gearing of the final drive, the splined coupling between the bull gear and the wheel shaft is spherical.Type: ApplicationFiled: May 26, 2006Publication date: December 21, 2006Inventors: Xavier Bonte, Tom De Lathauwer, Jean-Pierre Vandendriessche
