  • Publication number: 20150236594
Abstract: A method of driving a power stage configured to provide both positive output voltage higher than a first potential to a positive output and negative output voltage to a negative output, the method comprising:—generating a first control signal;—generating a second control signal;—operating, the first control signal so as to initiate a charging phase, such that a first duty cycle of the first control signal is controlling an amount of energy to be accumulated;—operating, simultaneously, at the control signals so as to initiate an independent discharging phase of the accumulated energy, in a boost-type to the positive output or in a buck-type or boost-type to the negative output, such that a second and third duty cycles of the second an third control signals are controlling an amount of energy to be discharged.

  • Publication number: 20150236588
Abstract: A method of driving a power stage configured to provide both positive output voltage to a positive output and negative output voltage to a negative output, the method comprising: —generating a first control signal; —generating a second control signal; —operating, the first control signal so as to initiate a charging phase, such that a first duty cycle of the first control signal is controlling an amount of energy to be accumulated; —operating, simultaneously, the first control signal and the second control signal so as to initiate an independent discharging phase of the accumulated energy, in a buck-type or boost-type, to an output of the power stage such that a second duty cycle of the second control signal is controlling an amount of energy to be discharged.

  • Patent number: 9048724
Abstract: The invention proposes a voltage regulating device having a switch in an electrical circuit between a first node (30, 140) and a second node (40, 130), comprising a first field effect transistor (21, 110) and a second field effect transistor (22, 120) connected in cascade. The switch is controlled by: —setting the gate (G1,G3) of the first transistor to a first electrical potential, and, —to close the switch, setting the gate (G2, G4) of the second transistor to the first potential, or —to open the switch, setting the gate of the second transistor to the electrical potential of the second node, with the difference between the first potential and the second potential then being adapted to allow opening the first transistor and the second transistor. The switch can be used in a switched-mode power supply.

  • Patent number: 8947059
Abstract: The invention relates to a switched-mode power supply delivering a first (VPOS) and a second (VNEG) voltage which are symmetrical. It comprises a power stage (30) comprising an inductor (L), and switches (A, B, C, D, E) controlled by control signals. It also comprises a control circuit (34), coupled to the power stage (30), that is able to produce error signals (Verr1, Verr2) as a function of the difference between a reference voltage (Vref) and the first (VPOS) and second (VNEG) voltages. The power supply comprises a synchronization circuit (38), coupled to the power stage (30) and to the control circuit (34), for generating the control signals in a manner that applies a control strategy adapted to minimize error signals, maintain a non-zero amount of energy in the inductor (L), and maintain the absolute value of the first (VPOS) and second (VNEG) voltages at substantially equal values.

  • Publication number: 20140218117
Abstract: The present invention relates to a voltage regulating device comprising a power stage (30) comprising an inductor (L) between a first node (P1) and a second node (P2); a first switch (A) between the first node (Pi) and a power supply node (P3) for which the potential (Vbat) is non-zero and of constant polarity; a first capacitor (CNEG) between a node (P5) at a reference potential and a second switch (B) coupled to the first node (P1); a second capacitor (CPOS) between a node (P7) at the reference potential and a third switch (C) coupled to the second node (P2); a fourth switch (D) between the second node (P2) and a node (P8) at the reference potential; a fifth switch (E) between the first node (P1 and a node (P9) at the reference potential; a first output (P4) for delivering a first voltage corresponding to the voltage at the terminals of the first capacitor (CNEG); a second output (P6) for delivering a second voltage corresponding to the voltage at the terminals of the second capacitor (CPOS); The power stag
