  • Publication number: 20050214176
Abstract: The invention relates to a process for the production of aromatic compounds from a hydrocarbon fraction with a catalyst that preferably circulates in a moving bed, a process that comprises at least the following successive stages that take place in at least one zone: treatment of the fraction in the presence of hydrogen and implementing at least one reaction for dehydrogenation of naphthenes; separation of the gas effluent that contains hydrogen, the liquid product and the catalyst; regeneration of the catalyst; reduction of the catalyst; and reintroduction of the catalyst for the treatment stage; recycling in the treatment stage of at least a portion of the gas effluent that contains the hydrogen that is called recycling gas; process in which the reduction stage is carried out in the presence of recycling gas that is introduced in an amount such that the amount of pure hydrogen that is provided is between 1-10 kg/kg of catalyst, whereby the effluent that is obtained from the reduction is then separated from

  • Publication number: 20040253154
Abstract: A moving bed process for producing aromatic compounds comprises at least a first step in which principally naphthene dehydrogenation is carried out in the presence of hydrogen in a mole ratio (H2)1/(HC), said step being followed by at least one subsequent step carried out at a mole ratio (H2)2/(HC)2, the process also comprising reducing the catalyst with hydrogen in a ratio (H2)red/(HC). In accordance with the invention, (H2)1/(HC)+(H2)red/(HC)≦(H2)2/(HC)2, (HC) representing the molar quantity of feed in the first step and (HC)2 that of the subsequent step, or (H2)1/(HC)+(H2)red/(HC)>(H2)2/(HC)2, but where (H2)1/(HC) is less than (H2)2/(HC)2. • Patent number: 6689331
Abstract: An apparatus for regeneration a reforming or aromatic compound production catalyst comprises a first combustion zone wherein the first combustion zone receives catalyst and an oxygen-containing gas; a successive second combustion zone; and a conduit communicating the first and second combustion zones for transferring catalysts from the first combustion zone to the second combustion zone. The first combustion zone is isolated from the second combustion zone to prevent passage of oxygen-containing gas from the first combustion zone to the second combustion zone and the severity of the operating conditions increases from the first combustion zone to the second combustion zone.

  • Patent number: 6662176
Abstract: A database indexing and rolling storage method for normalized event data. Indexing of the normalized event database meets the goals of a manageable storage database and fast accessibility. A log reference step is not required to locate information in the database because the indexing of the invention utilizes the time-stamp information in assigning the location for storage. There accordingly is no need for a separate look-up to associate a time stamped set of information, i.e., a table in a normalized event data database, because the indexing provides an unambiguous reference to a reusable storage location. Because the time-stamped indexing permits re-use of preplanned storage locations, the historical limits of the normalized event data may easily roll over. In other words, elimination of an oldest time period table of data while updating a new table of data is easily accounted for in the indexed database and storage method of the invention.

  • Patent number: 6506702
Abstract: The invention concerns a process for regenerating a catalyst in a fixed bed, for example a catalyst for reforming or for aromatic compound production, including a step for monitoring and controlling combustion completion which is carried out after the catalyst has undergone all of the combustion steps of the process. The monitoring and control step is carried out by injecting an oxygen-containing gas into the zone where monitoring and control takes place, the monitoring and control step being carried out under conditions which are more severe than those in the combustion steps. The monitoring and control step is carried out with an oxygen consumption of less than 10%. The temperature advantageously remains substantially constant.
