  • Publication number: 20260139437
Abstract: The present invention relates to an intermediate composition in form of an aqueous solution having a pH value ?6 for manufacture of polyamidoamine epihalohydrin resin. The intermediate composition comprises a polyamidoamine derivative having an average molecular weight of <150 000 g/mol with covalently bound pendant halohydrin groups, wherein the polyamidoamine derivative comprises 5-95 mol-%, preferably 7-90 mol-% of pendant halohydrin groups. The intermediate composition further comprises a total amount of 1,3-dihalo-2-propanol and 3-halopropyleneglycol less than 3500 ppm, calculated from the total dry weight of the intermediate composition.

  • Patent number: 12606673
Abstract: The invention relates to a process for manufacturing wet strength resins, which process comprises a polyamide reactor for amidation, an EHH reactor for epihalohydrin addition, a maturing tank for maturing, a ring-closure and cross-linking reactor for polymerization, and in the process a reaction mixture containing at least EHH and at least polyaminoamide epihalohydrin adduct is manufactured. The process further comprises between the maturing tank and the ring-closure and cross-linking reactor a membrane unit comprising a membrane for dividing the reaction mixture stream from the membrane unit into two streams: a permeate stream comprising un-reacted epihalohydrin and a reject stream comprising EHH/PAIM adduct guided to the ring-closure and cross-linking reactor.

  • Publication number: 20250002652
Abstract: The invention relates to a process to modify polymers on-site the main process site. The process comprises on-site the main process site a receiving section (11) configured to receive an adduct solution as an interim polymer product for a process polymer of the main process site in solids contents of 15-60 wt-%, preferably 20-60 wt-%, more preferably 30-60 wt-%, a crosslinking section (13) configured to crosslink polymers of the adduct solution and a final section (14) configured to provide a ready-to-use solution with the crosslinked polymers to the main process as the process polymer on-site the main process site. The invention also relates to a method configured to modify polymers on-site at a main process site.

  • Publication number: 20230203248
Abstract: The invention relates to a process for manufacturing wet strength resins, which process comprises a polyamide reactor (11) for amidation, an EHH reactor (12) for epihalohydrin addition, a maturing tank (15) for maturing, a ring-closure and cross-linking reactor (16) for polymerization, and in the process a reaction mixture containing at least EHH and at least polyaminoamide epihalohydrin adduct is manufactured. The process further comprises between the maturing tank (15) and the ring-closure and cross-linking reactor (16) a membrane unit (20) comprising a membrane by dividing the reaction mixture stream from the membrane unit (20) into two streams: a permeate stream (202) comprising un-reacted epi-halohydrin and a reject stream (201) comprising EHH/PAIM adduct guided to the ring-closure and cross-linking reactor (16).
