  • Patent number: 9831566
Abstract: An antenna comprises a plurality of tiles forming an antenna plane, each of said tiles comprising a plurality of radiating elements. Each radiating element comprises a metallic upper patch disposed above a metallic lower patch, the two patches being separated by a layer insulating them electrically. The lower patch is fed with electric current. Each radiating element comprises a conducting frame disposed parallel to the antenna plane and framing the two patches of said element, the two so-called patches being coupled electromagnetically through the aperture of said frame whose body comprises a rear face of small cross section disposed on the side of the lower patch and a front face of larger cross section disposed on the side of the upper patch, so as to widen the angular scan field of a beam in a plane orthogonal to the antenna plane.

  • Patent number: 7859476
Abstract: The present invention relates to the production of reflectarray antennas, that is to say antennas consisting of a primary illumination source and a phase-shifting plate consisting of an array of cells each having a coefficient of reflection the phase of which is electronically controlled. According to the invention, each cell consists of a waveguide element closed at one of its ends by a dielectric substrate wafer carrying an electrical circuit formed by three parallel conducting strips. A variable capacitor, produced either in MEMS technology or by means of a ferroelectric element, is implanted by means of bonding wires on the electrical circuit etched on the substrate.

  • Patent number: 6211813
Abstract: A monopulse source for a focal feed antenna including at least two waveguides machined in a metal flange supporting a microwave transmission and reception circuit of the antenna, and a dielectric substrate on the metal flange. Also included is a microwave short-circuit having an opening with a smaller dimension than a dimension of a respective waveguide. The microwave short-circuit is mounted on the dielectric substrate such that an axis of the microwave short-circuit coincides with an axis of the respective waveguide. Further, a transition positioned on the dielectric substrate and within the opening of the microwave short-circuit is configured to couple the respective waveguide.

  • Patent number: 5270722
Abstract: A radiating element has two superimposed patches separated by a dielectric layer. At least the lower patch has two opposite concave sides to allow space for the feeder conductor to pass to the other patch without increasing the overall dimensions of the element.

  • Patent number: 5208561
Abstract: A load for a stripline integrated into a three-plate structure is formed by a resonant cavity filled with absorbent material. The resonant cavity is defined by metallized holes extending through the three plates. The holes are spaced no more than 1/4 wavelength apart and can extend along the length of the stripline to form an opening of the resonant cavity. The structure of the load allows its size to have the same height and width of the stripline.

  • Patent number: 4620168
Abstract: A tunable hyperfrequency elimination band filter forms a coaxial line having a rectangular cross-section external conductor enclosing a rectangular cross-section internal conductor which is substantially co-axial therewith. A plurality of cylindrical resonators are mounted on an interior face of the external conductor. The width of the internal conductor is reduced in areas adjacent to each resonator. The resonators are cylindrically shaped and constructed of a dielectric material. Each resonator is mounted to the interior face by means of dielectric screws which may be adjusted to cause the central frequency of the filter to be tuned. Hyperfrequency absorbent material may be placed on the interior walls in areas opposite the resonators.

  • Patent number: 4380747
Abstract: The invention relates to ultra-high frequency filters with variable capacitance tuning devices tunable in a wide frequency range. Each tuning device comprises two coaxial fingers, namely a fixed finger and a finger movable in the filter body. One of these fingers is hollow and the other has a tuning plunger, whose end is cylindrical and which is displaceable, e.g. by screwing in the body of the finger. The minimum capacitance obtained with a minimum penetration of the plunger, its end being level in the vicinity of the end of the corresponding finger, is adjustable by displacing the movable finger relative to the fixed finger. The supplementary variable capacitance is obtained by plunging the tuning plunger into the hollow finger.

  • Patent number: 4376923
Abstract: The tuning device comprises a hollow cylindrical part and a moving rod which penetrates a cavity by passing from one side to the other of the hollow cylindrical member. This cylindrical member is fixed and integral with the cavity. It has an end located within the cavity, the end being longitudinally cut to form n slots (n being an integer greater than 1) for forming n elastic members, which are covered with an electrolytic silver deposit. Joined silver contacts are welded to the end of the elastic members to provide the contact with the moving rod and prevent poor conduction of surface currents due to wear to the electrolytic deposit at the contacts.
