Abstract: A traveller contact information centralising system designed to obtain up-to-date information regarding a user's location. The traveller contact information centralising system sends this information to the user, so that he can decide whether a centralised directory should be updated with this information. In the event that the user agrees to the update of the centralised directory with the relevant information, the traveller contact information centralising system provides the secure transfer of the information to an application that manages the centralized directory.

Abstract: A home environment managing method and system to manage home environment values from a plurality of locations is disclosed. The method allows in an acquisition mode to acquire through a Universal Remote Console a plurality of reference sets of home environment values from the plurality of locations. Each of the plurality of reference sets of home environment values are converted into a normalized set using a respective translation algorithm. Each normalized set is stored with a link to the translation algorithm used during the conversion. Furthermore, in a restore mode, a normalized set of home environment values is converted into a reference set using the translation algorithm linked to it, and then the reference set is restore to the appropriate location through a Universal Remote Console.

Abstract: System, method and program product executed at a workstation for selecting recipients of an e-mail. The workstation displays an initial list of potential recipients of said e-mail. A user identifies to the workstation a first type of recipient to receive the e-mail. The initial list including at least one recipient of the first type. A user identifies to the workstation a second type of recipient not to receive the e-mail. The initial list including at least one recipient of the second type. The workstation automatically determining a final list of recipients to receive the e-mail. The final list is the recipients of the initial list which are the first type but not the second type.

Abstract: An electronic mail management system and method is disclosed comprising a control table for storing information related to sent and received messages of an email client, wherein the stored information relates to header fields of the received and sent messages and, in particular, to fields as defined in Internet Engineering Task Force standard RFC 2822. The system monitors the control table to identify received messages which relate to sent messages and also to identify sent messages which have not been responded to by the recipients of the sent message. The email client displays received messages stored in the control table hierarchically according to the related sent message and also displays the status of the messages in the control table.

Abstract: A method and system for processing electronic mail. Electronic mails are created via specifications in a document that includes a recipient type section and at least two recipient content sections. The recipient type section identifies recipient types and recipient(s) of electronic mails for each recipient type. Each recipient content section identifies one or more recipients of the electronic mails and content to be selectively included in the electronic mail of only the one or more recipients. Creating electronic mails includes generating an electronic mail for each recipient. The electronic mail generated for each recipient contains a recipient list that includes the recipient as having the recipient type identified in the recipient type section. The electronic mail generated for each recipient contains the content of recipient content sections that identifies the recipient and does not contain the content of any recipient content section that does not identify the recipient.

Abstract: Method of re-routing mail traffic exchanged with a messaging system in a data transmission system in which at least one user connected to an IP transport network such as the Internet can transmit requests to and receive data from a plurality of servers through a load balancer, wherein at least one of the servers being a mail server in charge of mail exchange with the user through the IP transport network. This method comprises the steps of forwarding a routing context to an external service infrastructure partner (SIP) device when the system is triggered by an event A, reconfiguring the load balancer in order to be able to send a mail protocol to the SIP device when receiving the mail traffic to be re-routed to the SIP device, and forwarding a user context to the SIP device.

Abstract: The invention relates to a system and method for dynamically externalizing service delivery with a streaming system in a data transmission system. The method comprises the steps of forwarding at least one user context to an external service infrastructure partner (SIP) device when the streaming system is triggered by an event A; reconfiguring a switch layer when the at least one user context is received by the external SIP to allow user reconnection requests to be rerouted to the SIP; stopping the stream delivery for the at least one user; and restarting the stream delivery by the SIP for the at least one user upon receiving a user reconnection request.

Abstract: System for deferring the delivery of an e-mail sent by a sender to a receiver through a data transmission network such as Internet wherein a Message Transfer Agent (MTA) associated with the sender is in charge of transmitting over the network any e-mail being sent by the sender. The system comprises a retention server for storing the e-mail whose delivery is to be deferred and an authorization server for giving the retention server the authorization to deliver the stored deferred e-mail to the receiver when predetermined criteria are met. The MTA associated with the sender includes a retention enabling program for sending the deferred e-mail to the retention server when there is an indication in the e-mail that it is to be deferred.

Abstract: A queries management system to be accessed by a user submitting queries against databases. The system comprises a system for defining a set of parameters associated to the user and including user profile parameters and queries structure parameters, a notifications storing system for storing results availability notifications, and a results storing system for storing database queries results. The queries management system further comprises a control system coupled to the defining system and to the storing system for controlling the queries submissions against the databases using the user profile parameters and the queries structure parameters defined for the user, for controlling the results availability notifications using the user profile parameters defined for the user, and for controlling the database queries results histories based on the user profile parameters defined for the user.

Abstract: Information collecting system wherein at least an Application Service Provider (ASP) provides services to a user through an Internet network and wherein there are at least an access network to which is connected the user and an Internet Service Provider (ISP) network connected to each access network by a RADIUS client, the Internet network being connected to the ISP network by a proxy. This system comprises a RADIUS Client Agent (RCA) connected to the ISP network and adapted to collect information about parameters of the connection of the user to the system, and at least a Provisioning Proxy Agent (PPA) adapted to receive the information from the RCA and to add this information in the request sent by the user to the ASP.

Abstract: Method for ensuring the availability of a service proposed by a service provider in a data transmission system. The method includes looking in a context table for a Uniform Resource Locator (URL) defined in a service request in order to determine the server able to provide the requested service, appending a service availability request to the request before sending the request to the server, appending a service availability token to the reply provided by the server before sending the reply to the proxy, removing the service availability token from the reply upon reception thereof by the proxy, and updating the context table in the proxy before sending the reply to the user workstation by using information contained in the service availability token.

Abstract: Data transmission system comprising at least a data transmission network based upon an IP protocol, at least a content server for providing data requested by a user connected to the network, a plurality of proxies having a cache function, each proxy capable of having stored the requested data and one of the proxies being a user proxy to which is addressed the request sent by the user, and a domain name server for converting a server name provided by the user to the user proxy into an IP address of the content server. The domain name server includes table means for providing an IP address of a proxy amongst the proxies capable of having stored the requested data, the table means providing the proxy IP address to the user proxy whereby the requested data can be provided to the user by the proxy storing the requested data without requesting the data from the content server.
