Abstract: A portable lighter suitable for reaching a state of ignition. The lighter having a lighting mechanism activatable by a single movement of an operator's finger, which finger has a resistance to deformation. The lighting mechanism includes a first actuator movable between a first position and a second position, and a second actuator movable between a third position and a fourth position. The second position and the fourth position define a relative position between the first actuator and the second actuator. The actuators are arranged so that when the first actuator is moved by the single finger movement from the first position to the second position the finger also moves the second actuator from the third position to the fourth position. The relative position is variable according to the fingers resistance to deformation and the lighter reaches the state of ignition only for certain preset values of the relative position.

Abstract: A pocket lighter in which the spark wheel which may produce sparks on rotating in a first direction and rubbing on the pyrophoric stone, apart from being rotatable, is movable between a first position in which it is blocked from rotating in the first direction, and a second position in which it may rotate in said first direction, producing sparks directed towards the valve. The wheel is urged towards said first position when being actuated to rotate in said first direction and to pass to said second position, said wheel should first be rotated in a direction opposite to said first direction. Preferably the positions of the spark wheel are associated with the positions of the end stubs of the shaft thereof in some housings.

Abstract: A liquefied gas kitchen lighter in which the actuating means of the valve of the gas reservoir comprises a straight tubular member coaxial with straight container tube. The latter contains the piezo-electric generator and part of a burner, there being formed a generally straight route for the gas flow from the reservoir to the burner. The actuating means at the same time actuates the generator and provide the necessary electrical connections.

Abstract: A lighter having a body bounding a liquefied gas reservoir and an exhaust chimney through which the gas issues to the outside when a lid is opened. The lighter has a gas rate-of-flow limiter in the form of a tube of a length greater than 5 mm and of a very reduced flow cross-section between 0.03 and 0.002 mm. The tube is disposed in the reservoir and is fitted hermetically in the body either directly or with the interposition of a support member.
