    Abstract: A method of compensating vibration of an electrical machine comprising a stator and a moving portion, said stator being subjected to magnetic forces generated by alternating electrical excitation and leading to deformation thereof. The method comprises exciting piezoelectric actuators secured at predetermined action locations on the outside surface of the stator, said piezoelectric actuators being arranged to produce controlled deformation in said stator to counter the deformation induced by the magnetic forces.
