  • Publication number: 20130063481
Abstract: In the field of wide field or wide angle optical systems, an optical system comprises at least a first optical element and a second adaptive optical element comprising at least one active component, capable of modifying an optical wavefront virtually instantaneously according to a predetermined law, said optical device being designed to produce an image of an illuminated object whose geometric and photometric characteristics are known, the object and the image being at a finite distance or at infinity. The object is decomposed into a plurality of adjacent regions and the active component is arranged in such a manner that, to each region of the object there corresponds at least one predetermined law for modification of the wavefront received by the active component in such a manner that the geometric aberrations of the optical system for said region of the object are minimized.

  • Patent number: 7068909
Abstract: An optical fiber includes a coating comprising a cross-linked network comprising the reaction product of monomers and oligomers and at least one polymer dispersed or interpenetrated in the cross-linked network. The oligomer and polymer components used are at least partially fluorinated. The fiber-coating composition of the invention presents a refractive index that is low while satisfying the conditions for industrial fiber-drawing.

  • Patent number: 7006751
Abstract: The invention relates to the field of amplifying or emitting optical fibers. It comprises an amplifying optical fiber doped with a rare earth comprising a plurality of successive segments (1, 2, 3, 4, 5), presenting a monomode core and a multimode core, presenting at the periphery of the multimode core a peripheral segment (4) of low index so as to increase the numerical aperture of the optical fiber, outer cladding (5) being situated at the periphery of the low index peripheral segment (4), the multimode core being at least in part above the outer cladding (5), the peripheral segment (2) presenting a decreasing gradient shape.
    Type: Grant
    Filed: May 26, 2004
Date of Patent: February 28, 2006
    Assignee: Draka Comteo
