Abstract: Hybrid use of dual policies is provided to improve a communication system. In a multiple access scenario, when an inactive user equipment (UE) transitions to an active state, it may be become a burden to a radio cell on which it was previously camping. In some embodiments, hybrid load balancing is provided using a hierarchical machine learning paradigm based on reinforcement learning in which an LSTM generates a goal for one policy influencing cell reselection so that another policy influencing handover over active UEs can be assisted. The communication system as influenced by the policies is modeled as a Markov decision process (MDP). The policies controlling the active UEs and inactive UEs are coupled, and measureable system characteristics are improved. In some embodiments, policy actions depend at least in part on energy saving.

Abstract: A server may be provided to obtain a load balancing artificial intelligence (AI) model for a plurality of base stations in a communication system. The server may obtain teacher models based on traffic data sets collected from the base stations, respectively; perform a policy rehearsal process including obtaining student models based on knowledge distillation from the teacher models, obtaining an ensemble student model by ensembling the student models, and obtaining a policy model by interacting with the ensemble student mode; provide the policy model to each of the base stations for a policy evaluation of the policy model; and based on a training continue signal being received from at least one of the base stations as a result of the policy evaluation, update the ensemble student model and the policy model by performing the policy rehearsal process on the student models.

Abstract: The present disclosure provides compositions and methods for antigen identification. The methods provided herein comprise capturing polypeptides such as cytokines secreted by TCR-expressing cells (e.g., T cells) by antigen-presenting cells (APCs) presenting the antigens recognized by the TCRs of the TCR-expressing cells. The APCs can be detected or selected for antigen identification.

Abstract: ?2-6-Sialyltransferase (2,6ST) variants having improved ?2-6-specific sialidase activity as compared to the native 2,6ST enzymes are described. The variants include GT80 sialyltransferases such as P. damselae Pd2,6ST. Methods for making de-sialylated products and screening sialidase activity are also described.

Abstract: A refinement option recommendation system provides suggestions for completed search queries and refinement options. Upon receiving, at a search engine for a site, a portion of a search query from a user, the refinement option recommendation system determines a completed search query based on the portion of the search query. For example, if the portion includes “bak” or “baking,” the completed search query suggestion may include “baking recipe books” or “baking ingredients.” The refinement option recommendation system also determines a refinement option associated with the completed search query based on historical queries. For example, the refinement option may include recipe books associated with a particular culture based on historical queries by the user or by other users. As such, a first suggestion for the completed search query and a second suggestion for the refinement option are both provided to the user.

Abstract: Disclosed is a slag discharging method in a process of producing ultra-low phosphorus steel, which relates to the technical field of iron and steel smelting, and in which molten steel is mixed with lime first to produce basic slag; then converting is performed with oxygen to increase the oxidizability of the basic slag; and a carbon-containing reducing agent is finally added, so that in the process that the carbon is oxidized to release a large amount of carbon monoxide gas, phosphates are captured, and the basic slag is rapidly foamed and overflows from the opening of the steel ladle, so that conditions are no longer available for rephosphorization. Also disclosed is a method for producing ultra-low phosphorus steel, which includes the above-described slag discharging method in a process of producing ultra-low phosphorus steel, and refining and ingotting after slag discharge.

Abstract: Water-responsive actuators and methods for creating water responsive actuators are disclosed. In some embodiments, the disclosed subject matter includes a first layer, for example a plastic tape, and a second layer, for example bacterial spores and cured adhesive. The second layer can be created in a pattern. The pattern can include joints, which can contract when exposed to dry air and can thereby bend the actuator, and can expand when exposed to humid air and thereby return the actuator its original position.

Abstract: Curable compositions for dynamic epoxy-based thermoset adhesives and/or sealants are provided. Methods of applying the compositions to form strong, low-stress, cured adhesive polymer films are also provided. The cured polymer films use crosslinkers that include disulfide and carbon-nitrogen bonds, wherein the disulfide bonds impart dynamic chemistry to the polymer network structure in order to the achieve adaptable thermoset adhesives and sealants.
