Abstract: An impact absorber for a shoe includes a multichamber housing having a plurality of springs located therein. Each spring can be adjusted as necessary to customize the impact absorbing characteristics of the shoe. A dividing wall is located in the multichamber housing to divide the housing into two chambers and springs can be located in each of the chambers. Cushion elements can be located in the chambers as well. A multichamber housing is located adjacent to the heel of the shoe and another multichamber housing can be located adjacent to the ball of the wearer's foot.
