  • Publication number: 20230375547
Abstract: Provided herein are methods of detecting Ebola virus in a sample. The methods include contacting the sample with a plurality of gold nanoparticles (AuNPs) that are conjugated with antibodies, or antigen binding portions thereof, that bind to an epitope of a secreted glycoprotein (sGP) from the Ebola virus under conditions sufficient for the antibodies, or the antigen binding portions thereof, to bind to the epitope of the sGP from the Ebola virus in the sample to produce bound sGP. The methods also include detecting the sGP from the Ebola virus when aggregations of the bound sGP form with one another. Related reaction mixtures, devices, kits, and systems are also provided.

  • Publication number: 20220268633
Abstract: A method of fabricating a polarization sensor is described. It includes a quarter-wave plate to convert circularly polarized light into linearly polarized light. The quarter-wave plate is realized as a metasurface. The sensor also includes a linear polarizer to analyze the light generated by the quarter wave plate, and a photodetector to receive the analyzed light. The sensor may be combined with other linear polarization sensors to form a sensor capable of complete measurement of the polarization state of incident light.

  • Publication number: 20220099675
Abstract: Provided herein are methods of detecting Ebola virus in a sample. The methods include contacting the sample with a plurality of gold nanoparticles (AuNPs) that are conjugated with at least two sets of antibodies, or antigen binding portions thereof, that binds to at least first or second epitopes of glycoproteins, such as secreted glycoproteins (sGPs) from the Ebola virus under conditions sufficient for the antibodies, or the antigen binding portions thereof, to bind to the first or second epitopes of the glycoproteins from the Ebola virus in the sample to produce bound glycoproteins. The methods also include detecting the glycoproteins from the Ebola virus when aggregations of the bound glycoproteins form with one another. Related reaction mixtures, devices, kits, and systems are also provided.
