The preparation method is simple, synthetic conditions are easy to control, and batch production could be achieved.

    Abstract: A silicon photonic integrated chip and a wavelength division multiplexer that includes at least two polarization control structures and at least one polarization-independent Mach-Zehnder interferometer on a silicon substrate are provided. The polarization control structure includes two input ports and one output port. The Mach-Zehnder interferometer includes two input ports and one optical signal output port for outputting a multiplexed optical signal. The output ports of the polarization control structures are connected to the input ports of the Mach-Zehnder interferometer. The polarization control structures have large bandwidths for increasing an optical bandwidth of the wavelength division multiplexer and reducing an optical loss. A quantity of phase shift arms that require tuning feedback is reduced to lower overall power consumption of the wavelength division multiplexer.

    Abstract: The present disclosure relates to the formation of polycrystalline diamond materials with fine diamond grains and nano-sized particles of a grain growth inhibitor. In one embodiment, a method of fabricating a polycrystalline diamond material is provided. The method includes providing a mixture of diamond particles with an average particle size of about 1 micron or less, distributing a plurality of nano-sized titanium-containing particles with the diamond mixture, to act as a grain growth inhibitor, and sintering the mixture of diamond particles and titanium-containing particles at high pressure and high temperature to create a polycrystalline structure of sintered diamond grains. The sintered diamond grains have an average size of about 1 micron or less.

For a complicate state with more than one IMF containing prominent energy density, the degree of nonlinearity has also considered the amplitude variations. The combination of the intra-wave frequency modulation and the amplitude variation gives the Combined Degree of nonlinearity. With the definitions of degree of nonlinearity, the nonlinearity characteristic can be quantified, and the discussion of nonlinear effects could be conducted more precisely.
