    Abstract: Aspects of the present disclosure include magnetic sensor devices having a mixed oxide passivation layer. Also provided are magnetic sensor devices having an encapsulating passivation layer. The cover member includes an electrically conductive plastic member and a metal cover plate, and structurally formed in a plate shape. The electrically conductive plastic member is divided into at least two sections. The metal cover plate is embedded in the electrically conductive plastic member. The drilling fluid pressure in the piston chamber and a biasing means act in opposing directions on a piston to urge the piston either towards or away from the borehole wall.
