The processor is communicatively coupled to a plurality of input/output (I/O) devices according to a plurality of I/O communication protocols via a first number of wires. The system includes a first memory coupled to the processor to store instructions that can be executed by the processor and cause the processor to receive, from a first I/O device of the plurality of I/O devices, a first message according to a first I/O communication protocol of the plurality of I/O communication protocols, convert the first message to a second message according to a host communication protocol, and send the second message over a bus containing a second number of wires traversing a hinge movably coupling the lid portion to a base portion of the computing device. The second number of wires is less than the first number of wires.

The switching method includes steps of: establishing a connection between a portable device and a smart device, and fetching a program source list from the smart device; transmitting a watch request message to the smart device according to a user-selected program source from the program source list, wherein the watch request message includes program source identification information; and receiving program information, which is corresponding to the program source identification information and replied by the smart device in response to the watch request message, and providing the program information to the portable device for display. Therefore, according to the embodiments, the same or different program information may be simultaneously viewed on the portable device and the smart device after establishing the connection between the portable device and the smart device through a handshake protocol.

Abstract: A Telecom Adapter Layer (TAL) system includes a management unit and an execution unit connected via a distributed bus. In order to acquire network element (NE) information, an external service module sends a Get Info request to the execution unit according to the reference of the execution unit, and the execution unit acquires information from an NE according to the request and returns the NE information acquired from the NE to the external service module. The execution unit can be deployed in a device other than the service module or the management unit. The TAL system may be expanded to include more than one management unit and/or execution unit. By acquiring NE information from the execution unit, the TAL system is capable to perform NE management across a firewall.
