A color of the color filter layer can be changed based on gray scale of an image to be displayed on the liquid crystal display panel by applying a voltage signal to the color filter layer through the first and second transparent electrodes, thereby a light leakage in a dark state of the liquid crystal display panel is avoided, and thus it is possible to improve contrast of the liquid crystal display panel.
