  • Publication number: 20220315620
Abstract: The present invention relates to the field of pharmaceutical chemistry, and specifically to a method for preparing cholesterol, a derivative thereof, and an analog thereof. The derivative of cholesterol comprises, but is not limited to, 7-dehydrocholesterol, 25-hydroxycholesterol, 25-hydroxy-7-dehydrocholesterol, and ergosterol. In the present invention, a compound represented by formula I can be prepared by means of a microbial transformation using phytosterols as a raw material, followed by preparing cholesterol, the derivative thereof, and the analog thereof.

  • Publication number: 20220234920
Abstract: A method of removing or reducing the concentration of a contaminant in wastewater. The method involves combining wastewater and an elemental iron, comprising of zero valent iron, in a tank to produce treatment water. In this method the wastewater contains a contaminant consisting of: selenate [Se(VI)], selenite [Se(IV)], selenocyanate [SeCN?1], selenide [Se(?II)], and combinations thereof. The treatment water is then agitated with mechanical mixing and air sparging to produce a treated slurry. The treated slurry is then separated into a treated water stream and a contaminate stream.

  • Patent number: 11021664
Abstract: The invention relates to a catalytic hydrocracker with two different catalyst beds within the reactor where each is loaded with a catalyst that has different hydrocracking properties. A first catalyst bed preferably cracks heavy oil more aggressively than the catalyst in the second bed. The catalytic hydrocracker includes further two recycle lines such that one directs unconverted oil through both hydrocracker beds and a bypass inlet is positioned between the first and second catalyst beds to admit unconverted oil to pass only through the second less aggressive hydrocracker catalyst bed. When gasoline prices favor the production of gasoline, less unconverted oil is recycled through the bypass therefore making more gasoline, but when prices favor the production of j et and diesel, more recycle is directed through the bypass recycle thus making less gasoline and more diesel and jet fuel.
