  • Patent number: 11974361
Abstract: Methods, systems, and computer readable media can be operable to facilitate management of parental control settings at one or more devices based upon a detection of a control device. A central device (115) may be configured with one or more device identifiers of one or more devices that are designated as control devices. In response to a determination by the central device (115) that no control device is connected to the central device (115), the central device (115) may enable one or more parental control settings at the central device (115) and/or one or more client devices (105). When the central device (115) determines that a control device is connected to the central device (115), the central device (115) may disable one or more parental control settings at the central device (115) and/or one or more client devices (105).

  • Publication number: 20230077413
Abstract: Onboarding one or more wireless devices to different wireless networks in a wireless system. A gateway/access point apparatus selects from a user interface a trigger service set identifier (SSID) among a plurality of available onboarding trigger SSIDs, each onboarding trigger SSID corresponding to a different wireless network. The gateway/access point apparatus transmits the onboarding trigger SSID to a wireless device, initiates an onboarding procedure between the wireless device and the gateway/access point apparatus, and establish a network connection between the wireless device and a wireless network based on the onboarding procedure, the wireless network corresponding to the transmitted onboarding trigger SSID. The selecting, the transmitting, the initiating, and the establishing are performed for each of the one or more wireless devices for establishing a network connection to a different one of the one or more wireless networks using a corresponding onboarding trigger SSID.

  • Publication number: 20220311481
Abstract: An electronic gateway device includes a network interface configured to electronically wirelessly communicate with first and second client devices; a wide area network (WAN) interface configured to constructively communicate with an Internet; a memory having software stored thereon; and a processor configured to run the software to establish a service set identifier (SSID) for communication with the first and second client devices via the network interface; determine whether the electronic gateway device is presently able to connect to the Internet; upon a determination that the electronic gateway device is not able to connect to the Internet, send: (i) information identifying the SSID, and (ii) a creation request to the first client device to create a wireless hotspot network with the SSID for connection to the Internet; and send a steering instruction to the second client device for steering the second client device to the wireless hotspot network.

  • Publication number: 20220303797
Abstract: A wireless master device to remotely perform network speed tests on a wireless client device that is not in the possession of the user. A user interface (UI) is provided that displays a list of client devices that may be selected to be the wireless master device and a list of client devices that may be selected to perform the speed test. A start instruction is wirelessly sent to start the speed test on the selected client device. Network speed test results of the client device are received by the wireless master device and presented in the UI. The UI presents options for selecting a type of speed test to perform. The UI includes an area where messages and the test results are presented.
