  • Publication number: 20110032154
Abstract: An antenna structure for providing a broadband circularly polarized radiation. The antenna structure comprises a feed line layer having an input portion and a first radiating patch layer stacked adjacent to the feed line layer. The feed line layer is shaped and dimensioned as an open loop having an input portion and signals are feedable to the feed line layer via the input portion. The first radiating patch layer has a reference origin defined thereon. The antenna structure also comprises a plurality of probes disposed between the feed line layer and the first radiating patch layer for coupling therebetween. The signals are feedable to the first radiating patch layer via the plurality of probes and each of the plurality of probes are positioned about the reference origin of the radiating patch layer along the length of the feed line layer.

  • Publication number: 20100026439
Abstract: In accordance with an embodiment of the invention, there is disclosed an antenna for radio frequency identification. The antenna comprises a first radiating element for operating a first mode of radio frequency identification using a first current. The antenna further comprises a second radiating element for operating a second mode of radio frequency identification using a second current. Specifically, at least one of a portion of the first radiating element forms a portion of the second radiating element and a portion of the second radiating element forms a portion of the first radiating element. When the first radiating element is excited by the first current, the first radiating element generates a first field for providing the first mode of radio frequency identification, and when the second radiating element is excited by the second current, the second radiating element generates a second field for providing the second mode of radio frequency identification.

  • Publication number: 20090008449
Abstract: An antenna for radio frequency identification is disclosed. The antenna comprises a first radiating element having at least one loop element and a second radiating element spatially displaced from the first radiating element and having at least two interconnected loop elements. The antenna further comprises a coupler for electrically coupling the first and second radiating elements. Specifically, when a first current flows in the first radiating element for generating a first magnetic field and a second current flows in the second radiating element for generating a second magnetic field, one of the first and second magnetic fields superimposes the other of the first and second magnetic fields for generating an interrogation region in the near field of the first and second radiating elements.
