Abstract: A ball bearing having external surfaces coated with ceramic materials is provided. The raceways of the ball bearing may advantageously be formed of metal such as stainless steel. The ceramic coating acts as an insulator increasing the resistance of the ball bearing to heat within the ball bearing environment. The balls within the raceway of the ball bearing may advantageously be coated with a lubricant to decrease friction in the ball bearing because the insulating ceramic coating prevents the environmental heat from causing the degradation of the lubricant.

Abstract: A projection system uses a transformation matrix to transform a projection image p in such a manner so as to compensate for surface 5irregularities on a projection surface. The transformation matrix makes use of properties of light transport relating a projector to a camera. A display pipeline of user-supplied image modification processing modules are reduced by first representing the processing modules as multiple, individual matrix operations. All the matrix operations are then combined with, i.e., multiplied to, the transformation matrix to create a modified transformation matrix. The created transformation matrix is then used in place of the original transformation matrix to simultaneously achieve both image transformation and any pre and post image processing defined by the image modification processing modules.

Abstract: Disclosed is a method for virtual pairing of a first peer device with a second peer device. In the method, a nonce is generated at the first peer device for use in virtually pairing the first and second peer devices to establish a first-type wireless connection. The nonce is forwarded from the first peer device to the second peer device over an already established second-type wireless connection between the first and second peer devices. At least one new key is generated from the nonce and a shared key for the already established second-type wireless connection. The first peer device is virtually paired with the second peer device using the at least one new key to establish the first-type wireless connection between the first and second peer devices.

The system includes access requestor AR, access controller AC and policy manager PM as well as the protocol interface among them. The protocol interface between the AR and AC includes a trusted network transmission interface (IF-TNT) and IF-TNACCS interface between TNAC client and TNAC server. The protocol interface between the AC and PM includes an identification policy service interface IF-APS, evaluation policy service interface IF-EPS and a trust measurement interface IF-TM. The protocol interface between the AR and PM includes a trust measurement interface IF-TM.

Abstract: An ultrasonic transducer has at least two sets of transducer units, with all the transducer units in each set having the same focus position and the transducer units in the different sets having different focus positions. Since the focus points of the sets of ultrasonic transducer units are distributed in a relatively large spatial range, the range of ultrasonic therapy can be increased even within the narrow and limited space of magnetic resonance imaging equipment.

Abstract: A load balancing method for network intrusion detection includes the following steps. Packets are received from a client. The data packets include a protocol type and a protocol property. An intrusion detection procedure is loaded on a receiving end. A corresponding request queue is set for each intrusion detection procedure. The request queue is used for storing the data packets. The data packets are processed a separation procedure, and are categorized into data packets of a chain type and data packets of a non-chain type according to the protocol type. The data packets of the chain type are processed by a first distribution procedure. The data packets of the non-chain type are processed by a second distribution procedure. The distribution procedures distribute the data packets to the corresponding request queues according to the protocol property. The corresponding intrusion detection procedure is performed on the data packets in each request queue.

The network interface is operable for receiving first and second packets transmitted by a network application. The signature monitor coupled to the network interface is operable for identifying the network application based on a first packet transmitted by the network application and for generating monitoring data indicative of a state of the first packet. The rule generator coupled to the signature monitor is operable for generating a rule according to the monitoring data and according to a state machine indicative of a state transition between the first and second packets transmitted by the network application. The packet access controller coupled to the rule generator is operable for identifying the network application if the second packet contains contents matched to the rule.

The privacy key is only known to the first and second wireless devices. A privacy address is generated for the first wireless device based on the seed value and the first resolution tag. A packet is transmitted from the first wireless device to the second wireless device. The packet includes the privacy address and the first resolution tag.

Abstract: A surface plasmon resonance biosensor device and system are provided. The simplicity of SPR biosensor design allows easy integration with both QCM and electrochemistry techniques, not found in current SPR biosensor devices. In some embodiments, the surface plasmon resonance biosensor device has a dual SPR/QCM sample holder which allows simultaneous detection by both surface plasmon resonance and also quartz crystal microbalance (QCM) techniques. In additional embodiments, the surface plasmon resonance biosensor device and/or the dual SPR/QCM technique can be integrated with electrochemistry techniques by incorporate reference and counter electrodes in the SPR or SPR/QCM sample holder. Methods of using the device and system to determine whether an analyte of interest is present in a sample are also provided.

The system and method extracts a skeleton of objects in the monochromic image A2 to generate a skeleton image A3 and extracts a skeleton of objects in the monochromic image B2 to generate a skeleton image B3. The system and method then covers the skeleton image A3 with the monochromic image B2 to generate a covered image A4, and covers the skeleton image B3 with the monochromic image A2 to generate a covered image B4. The system and method further corrects allowable variances in the covered images A4 and B4, and outputs the covered images whose variances have been corrected.
