  • Publication number: 20050012771
Abstract: Methods and apparatus for packing, including single pixel data strings, and playback tracking of informative data, e.g., audio signals, associated with graphics. To maximize the signal-to-noise ratio during data recovery, a Read sensor is kept substantially on-center of each data block throughout reading. A Print-and-Read ink-jet embodiment carriage mechanism in conjunction with the paper feed mechanism keeps the Read sensor on track center as misalignment information has been determined beforehand or in real time for active track servoing. Additional functionalities are incorporated in scanning ink-jet class of printers so that they can further operate as informative data recovery or retrieval systems for digitized data on graphical data images. In another embodiment, a digital camera itself is provided with additional functionalities to operate as a recovery and playback device for prints containing informative data.

  • Patent number: 6845295
Abstract: A method of controlling a robot (32) includes the steps of selecting an initial configuration from at least one of a first, second, and third sets to position a TCP at a starting point (44) along a path (33) and selecting a final configuration different than the initial configuration to position the TCP at an ending point (46). Next, the TCP moves from the starting point (44) while maintaining the initial configuration, approaches the singularity between a first point (48) and a second point (50), and selects one of the axes in response to reaching the first point (48). The angle for the selected axis is interpolated from the first point (48) to the second point (50). After the interpolation, the angles about the remaining axes are determined and positions the arms in the final configuration when the TCP reaches the second point (50) and moves to the ending point (46) while maintaining the final configuration.

  • Patent number: 6844438
Abstract: The invention is based in part on the discovery that nonselective ? agonists that possess ? receptor-mediated effects in addition to their ? agonist effects can decrease cocaine self-administration more effectively and with fewer undesirable side effects than can highly selective ? agonists. The invention includes a number of new compounds having both nonselective ? opioid receptor agonist activity and additional activity at ? opioid receptors. These compounds are useful for the treatment of cocaine abuse, and can also be radiolabeled for use as imaging agents, e.g., the N-fluoroalkyl and iodoalkyl derivatives can be used, respectively, for positron emission tomography (PET) and single photon computed tomography (SPECT) brain imaging.

  • Patent number: 6844764
Abstract: A method and apparatus are disclosed for generating a second clock signal, having a second effective clock frequency, from a first clock signal, having a first effective clock frequency. Clock pulses of the first clock signal are counted to generate a count value. When the count value reaches a predetermined blanking value, a blanking signal is generated. The blanking signal blanks at least one clock pulse of the first clock signal. The process is repeated multiple times at a predetermined rate corresponding to the predetermined blanking value to generate the second clock signal.
