Each contact comprises a soldering section (33) extending out the housing, an engagement point (321) and a middle portion connecting the soldering section and the engagement point. The middle portion touches at least one sidewall of each passageway, and a cutout (17) is formed on said at least one sidewall of the passageway to space the middle portion from said at least one sidewall.

Abstract: A latching mechanism for holding an electronic card on a printed circuit board, includes an insulative fixing device mounted to the printed circuit board and a metallic latching device attached to the fixing device. The fixing device provides the positioning post extending through the positioning hole of the electronic card and the latching device provides a hook section downwardly pressing the electronic card so as to have the electronic card in a parallel relation with the printed circuit board. A card edge connector is provided on the printed circuit board for cooperatively holding the electronic card thereon.

The plastic portion includes a locking lug (301) and a restraint head (302). The metal portion is retained to the housing and extends inwardly a guidance stud (316) and a stop tag (317) for covering the locking lug and the restraint head respectively, and the stop tag is as high as an upper end of the guidance stud. While a card module is inserted into the central slot in a correct position and rotated downwardly to directly engage and push the guidance studs, the metal portions together with the plastic portions can be deflected outwards so that the card module is secured held.
